Best FA QB available given our OC IMO. If Geno can beat him out you know he made large strides with his fundamentals in the offseason. If not, we have a very capable QB who knows the offense. Geno would likely still get opportunities when Vick got injured too.

Still kind of torn on this. If he's an improvement he's an improvement and I don't really buy that he'd be a distraction and bring baggage with him, that crap is long behind him IMO. More than anything his injury history bothers me and I don't know how it would work if Vick beat out Geno and then Vick went down to injury and Geno came in. Either Geno could have had his confidence shattered and struggle and we lose more games or he plays fine and when Vick is ready to come back from injury you have a QB controversy that could split the locker room over who they feel should be playing.

Maybe I'm just over thinking things.

Vick is a popular player among guys in the nfl, I'm cool with this signing but the only thing that gives me pause is a possible split in the locker room over Vick and Geno

No, no, and no. Regardless if he's better than Geno, if Vick comes to the Jets it will end badly. He is a stop gap at best at this point of his career.

All you have to do is look at how well Vick and Foles handled the situation to calm your fears about a split locker room. Vick has experience with how to handle that situation well and he did it just last year.

Read a little about his relationship with Foles.

As for Geno's confidence, if there's one thing he's not lacking at all it's confidence. You cannot be scared to bring in competition on a football team due to hurting feelings. This is the NFL.

I think we kind of need a stop gap. Unless Geno makes huge strides this offseason it would be great for him to learn on the bench for a while IMO. If he does make huge strides he should be able to beat out Vick. Win/win.

Great move if it happens. It gives us that capable vet QB.

Similar to Schaub and McCown, Vick gives us an insurance policy if Geno shits the bed through the first half of the season. None of these three are long term answers to the Jets QB situation. That would have to be addressed by either getting lucky in the middle rounds of this draft or in 2015.

Doubt that this will happen I really don't see it happening.Vick will want to go somewhere where he might be able to start. He'd have a better shot on A number of other teams. When its all said and done Vick won't be on the Jets. What can Vick teach Geno anyway? How to kill dogs and stay injured?he already learned how to turn the ball over from Sanchez

if hes looking for a chance to start, then why wouldnt he look at the jets? you have a young guy that no one is really sold on, an organization who is now preaching competition over everything, and the OC is the man that helped revive your career. pretty good fit if you ask me.

i think the real worry with bringing him in is his health the last few years. if he cant stay on the field its a waste of time and the last few years he hasnt been able to. he cant take those out of the pocket hits like he used to

I thought Vick was a great team player after he got benched permanently for Foles. If we sign him, I would still perfer Geno to start and if he struggles, put Vick in. Not much of a fan starting Vick from the get-go

If Vick starts for the Jets, I'll stop rooting for the Jets.

What makes you think Vick will not start for the Jets? Did I miss the great QB play from current players on the Jets roster?

Vick is the lowest form of scum out there, just above pedophiles. Much rather play the season out with Geno.

The more people that say stuff like they won't cheer for the Jets if Vick comes here the more I want Vick to come here to prove those people liars

If Geno is our future, Vick makes sence. He won't cost a lot, he knows the system and he'll only be with us a year or two.
