if we do in fact move on from David Harris I could see Rex being in on Brian Cushing (but his past two injuries scare me). their are a few good ILB's in the draft: Smallwood (R3-4), Jones (R2-3), Bullough (R4-6), Jackson (R5-7).
I was more down on Harris last off season than now, but I basically agree with you. He was definitely a better player this year than last, but he's still pretty slow, and a liability in the passing game. His current contract is one of the worse deals from the Tanny era. His age is working against him, too. Perhaps he would agree to redo his contract, but I don't know what the consequence to the cap is from that. I also want to add that I had high hopes for Davis last off season, but I have to accept he did not really step it up, so his situation is a factor in handling Harris, meaning Davis not improving that much probably limits the Jets' ability to deal with Harris, at least somewhat.
jairus byrd is not a high profile name, the avg football fan does not know who he is ... signing byrd wouldnt even bump spring training news off of the back pages in this market yes, we have a bunch of holes, and we have over $40 mill in cap space and at least 10 draft picks ... plus, were not going to fill all of those holes in one year when you have the opportunity to sign a truly elite playmaker, you have to look into it
If we are gonna run the 3-4 , then we would need an extra ILB and I never said harris is overrated ,He just needs a faster ILB playing next to him. Unless we switch to a 4-3 all the time .
Looks like the Redskins & Orakpo have already begun their contract negotiations. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...-orakpo-redskins-begin-contract-talks-gm-says

How about Jermichael Finley if he doesn't resign? i think that would be good depth at the TE spot if we don't keep winslow.. He might of had too many drug problems this year for Idziks liking. He seems like he doesn't want any more circus acts in town
I would be shocked if Winslow is back after the drugs and jerking off in public thing. I'm sure the Packers will try to keep Finley if he's healthy. That's a big "if" imo. I'm not sure it's wise for him to keep playing. While he's a good player, I think it would be risky for the Jets to sign him. For certain, doctors would have to clear him, and even then there could still be a high degree of risk.
He suffered a serious neck injury this past season (I think) and for a very short time they thought he was paralyzed.
Dolphins unlikely to resign Dustin Keller. http://periscopepost.com/sports-24/...s-unlikely-to-re-sign-dustin-keller-4422.html I wouldn't mind signing him if he can still run.
Why? He disappears for long stretches, can't stay healthy and can't block. He's not what we need at all. You guys have to get over your love affair with former Jets who are mediocre.
screw keller... he's been so overrated to me... cant block for shit.. cant take a hit for shit... doesnt change the game.. never found consistency...never reached expectations he's just faster than LB's thats about it.
http://www.sportsworldreport.com/ar...tin-keller-talks-tim-tebow-trade-new-york.htm Doesn't sound like someone who would be happy to be back.
