Did he just say that the jets chose to kick? Meaning that the bills will get the ball AGAIN to start the 2nd half?

huh? if the Jets elected to kick, that means they will receive the ball in the second half. winning the toss does not determine who gets the ball in each half, it determines who decides who gets the ball in each half.

I thought if you win the toss, you can defer, then get ball at half. Last time we elected to kick, we didn't get the ball at the half or the start.

    Wrong about deferring the ball.

No if you elect to kick you will get it in the second half, if you elect to choose the wind than what you said would happen

Whoever wins the coin toss gets the choice what they want to do (i.e. recieve/kick/play with/against wind)

At the start of the second half whoever lost the coin toss at the start now can choose first.

So yes, we could kick off both halves.

Exactly what I thought, if true, then we made a boneheaded move.

Nope. Herm won the toss, but decided to take the wind. Jets lost the toss today.

I think the problem here is that some of you thought we won the toss. We didn't. We called tails, and it was heads. We didn't "take" the wind. The team that loses the toss has to choose which direction they will defend, and the Jets chose to face the wind in the 1st and 3rd quarters, and their back to the wind in the 2nd and 4th quarters. They will receive the ball at the start of the half.
