    This was great to see.

It's all about expectations I guess. 2011 was the worst 8-8 feeling ever, while 2013's 8-8 does feel pretty good.

Idzik sure is one hell of an actor. how far will his deception go? what other cover ups is Idzik responsible for?

Idzik needs to be investigated for the Kennedy assassination, staging the moon landing, and creating the autism vaccination hysteria.

Okay THAT convinces me Rex won Idzik over unless he's a great actor on the side lol. Rex really is the Pied Piper.

Yea baby, I'm excited for next year. The potential is high with all our cap space and draft picks. Too bad it's so far away.

I was pumped for a couple days after the Ray Lucas 8-8 season in '99 until the Billy Boy fiasco.

Buddy got that kind of blind loyalty from his defensive players but Rex gets it from the WHOLE team.

Woody & Idzik appreciate Rex's heart & passion for the Jets
Its what sets him apart as a JETS coach
Its unique in terms of Jets HCs, in my experience as a fan

Idzik seemed to indicate that Rex is the face of the Jets

All of these are appropriate reasons for keeping him around

Now Rex, its your time to put up,
    (assuming Idzik delivers the goods)

this was a no brainer. firing rex after leading 3-13 talent to an 8-8 record would have been another typical jet move.

glad he is back. if we could have had cohwer or gruden id back that, otherwise roll with rex again

would you want Cohwer if the NFL hadn't staged his Super Bowl victory?

he is a good coach that was part of a great organization, which is why they have continued at the same level without him. Gruden, left to his own accord, was good in Tampa Bay, but never great other than his Super Bowl season.

both are big names, but are over rated. neither should be considered savior coaches.

Just like to point out the irony of this post. Which calls two SB winning HC's overrated in a thread about a team celebrating the return of a mediocre coach after an 8-8 season like it's a SB win...

It should be pointed out that our players love Rex because he is lax on discipline. They love him because he is an easy boss to work for. Easy bosses don’t usually build championship teams. But they do make players happy.

Too bad, what a shame. If only Idzik was just another idiot that wanted Rex gone prematurely, the SOJFs could have had their way and been back on track to the basement, where they're more comfortable. Instead it's the playoffs next year and the chance to let Rex finish what he came close to twice already. Rex brought this team a true identity and despite developing a flop at QB and mismanaged contracts from GM, mistakes were learned from and a winning culture is being developed. Get on board or gtfo.

Rex was one win from the superbowl twice. Parcells did the same with the Jets. Sometimes the ball has to bounce your way to get to the superbowl.

As far as I can tell, Rex has gotten this team to overachieve in '09 and '13. The only time they underperformed relative to their talent was in '11.

Cohwer was a Super Bowl given coach. or perhaps you did not watch that ludicrous game?

Gruden's teams got progressively worse from his first year, revealing a lack of ability to replicate that type of success over the long term.

pointing that out in no way is ironic to Rex's situation.
