badly, but I always hope they don't win Super Bowls anyway

I'm not that worried. They have a very flawed team this year. If they made it there, I think they'd lose to the NFC representative.

I would say congrats because they would deserve it. Dont see it happening but props to them if they get it done. Will not be easy for anyone, especially in the AFC.

Even better would be the Eagles against the Pats. Lurie being entertained by Mara and Kraft in the Jets box with Woody. It would serve them both right. A nice snow storm and 10 below zero day with mass transit derailed would be "Icing" on the cake.

    Never thought of that.

Ive been cheering for Seattle cuz I picked em, BUT BRING Philly to the Meadowlands. That would kill the Giants.

If the pats make the Super Bowl, jets fans better camp outside the patriots hotel for the whole week prior to the game making as much noise as possible in the middle of the night.

pull a LT and order escorts for them?

Would like to order one for Belicheat's room and see his reaction.

I wonder if the police would intervene if a few guys started a J-E-T-S chant at 2 AM outside the hotel. I'm guessing they would if it carried on long enough.

LOL. I'm talking about recent playoff history when I talk about the Pats always losing to the Ravens. They did sneak in a couple years back with a blown Cundiff FG and dropped TD, but they lost in the superbowl and other than that year, they haven't beat the Ravens with Flacco once in the post season. The Pats usually struggle against good defenses. Brady has got it done this year, no doubt, but he's struggled many games because he has nobody to throw to. The Bengals are much better than they were a couple years ago, the Patriots are worse. That much is obvious, so in reality YOUR argument is the bad one. They couldn't score more than 6 against the Bengals last time they played. They might beat the Chargers, I forgot they were still in it. The bottom line is that the Pats do not have the tools to make it that far this year.

They are very fortunate to have the record they have right now. Let's look at their wins.

Week 1: Beat the Bills with a last second FG in EJ Manuel's first NFL game.
Week 2: One dropped TD away from a loss. Brady looked awful. Should have been a loss if not for a rookie QB struggling late and throwing 3 INTS in the last 20 minutes or so.
Week 3: Beat the Bucs by 20, a legit win although the team was falling apart at the time and Freeman played horrible.
Week 4: Beat Atlanta by 7
Week 6: Beat the Saints by 7 after they rolled over and gave them 3 possessions in the last 2 minutes. Saints beat themselves that game
Week 8: Miraculous comeback to beat Miami who went into the half with a 17-3 lead. The late game comeback was aided by a blocked FG, a late game interception and Tannehill playing a terrible 2nd half.
Week 9: Beat Pittsburgh badly. Legitimate win
Week 12: Edge the Broncos in OT after coming back from a 24-0 deficit, aided by 3 lost fumbles and a pick in the 2nd half.
Week 13. Barely beat the 2-13 Texans
Week 14. Barely beat the 4-11 Browns, lost on a bad special teams blunder and a missed Cundiff FG.
Week 16. Very good win destroying Baltimore.

Their 4 losses? Jets, Bengals, Panthers, Dolphins. 2 good teams, 2 mediocre teams.

I see only 2 or 3 non fluky wins in there. Not saying they didn't deserve it because Brady is a monster, but they are very over rated by their record at the moment and I don't think Brady can do it alone in the playoffs. They could EASILY be 7-8 right now rather than 11-4. 7 of those wins involved very good luck, complete team collapses and inexperienced QB mistakes in the clutch. Tom Brady has gone above and beyond as well, but I don't think it's going to win him 3-4 in a row in the playoffs where he'll see some of the top defenses in the league and have no Gronk. They are barely beating bad teams this year, which is something you usually see from this team. They usually decimate the bad teams, and edge the good teams. If they win 2 playoff games I will be shocked out of my mind. Sure it could happen, but it doesn't seem very likely. They'll have to go through the Bengals, Chiefs, Ravens and/or Broncos to make the superbowl. It's a tough path against some tough defenses.

If it does somehow happen I hope the weather sucks and it screws them, but it will be just a fluky as their season if they make it. I'm not saying it's impossible, it's just highly muthafuckin improbable.

not to mention petty, jealous and immature. It's almost a phobia and I don't think Jet fans should give the Patriots that kind of power. Until we win the division, they're the rulers of the AFCE. To quote a well worn cliche...

"To be the best, you have to beat the best.."

So far, we've only done it in spurts and not often enough to claim the division. It is what it is so lets start dealing with the reality instead of some childish phobia.

it really is, some people really just think about the patriots. listen i dont root for the patriots, i dont like the patriots and i am usually happy when they lose. but to worry about what they do is just silly.

i HATE the dolphins, however it isnt going to bother me if they win the superbowl in the jets home stadium, its almost an obsession with some people and the patriots at this point.

So the recent history of the Pats "always" losing to the Ravens in the playoffs is the Ravens slight edge of 2-1? lol okay

And this argument of breaking down each game and saying what record they "could" have could be done for every team aside from the Broncos.

Sure it is a tough road for them but what team doesn't have a tough road through the playoffs?

That is a winning scenario. Haha what a wonderful mess that would be.

and the one "win" NE had was that extremely lucky win with the end zone drop and cundiff miss

so I'd say Baltimore owns NE in the playoffs

End zone breakup and a Cundiff miss that was for the tie, not a game winner.

2-1, far from "owning". But I don't care enough to continue this further. Agree to disagree.

2-1 and a very lucky win, all three times NE was favored

so yeah that's owning and that's the consensus view.

2009 Ravens: 9-7, #6 seed. They go to NE, the #3 seed. Result: Won Wild Card Playoffs (Patriots) 33–14
2011 Ravens: #2 seed. They go to NE, the #1 seed. Result: NE barely hangs on at the end, 23-20
2012 Ravens: #4 seed. They go to NE, the #2 seed. Won AFC Championship (Patriots) 28–13

    So yeah, that's owning

All three games were at New England, all three times NE was a significant favorite.

Two Ravens blowouts and a nailbiter NE was fortunate to win.
