This offseason will be critical for the JETS to move forward...especially on the offensive side of the ball.
Geno's play will determine if we go get a Jay Cutler or maybe get a Shaun Hill to compete/backup. However we need to go get a Maclin and Pettigrew.
i love the idea of pettigrew and maclin the more i think about it. really would add some talent to the roster.
I don't see the jets getting cutler. Who knows though. The best teams in football don't do most of their work in free agency, unless the obvious happens and Peyton becomes a free agent the broncos go from middle of the pack team to top 2 in the afc. A couple nice additions will work but building through the draft is critical. Wr, te, o line, and safety all have to be addressed first and foremost. That is assuming milliner and cro are the corners going into next season. I believe we have an extra 3rd rounder this year, so if we draft WELL and avoid project players we can address these 4 needs within the first 90 picks and get quality at the cheapest price
He would be a great draft pick. He is the most complete WR in the draft. He just knows how to get open and it doesn't hurt that he's also 6'3.
Shaun Hill would give us a smart vet QB that can run an offense and won't turn the ball over. The perfect QB to have around to backup or compete. Your boy Sanchez is not the answer.
Wow Kerley was awesome to have back. Add a possession guy in Decker and Watkins Lee or Matthews to add speed or grab Tate or Maclin and get a red zone stud in Mike Evans.
Lol i know,Whats with this Shaun Hill bullshit.Didnt we sign that guy and he asked to be released because of Tebow?Or was that Drew Stanton
I think Maclins a good fit,But we might have to overpay a little bit. There will be teams with guys named Brady and Luck that could use his services same with Tate
The Jets don't have the talent to reach for a crying need. On the topic of the thread, Kerley is an excellent slot receiver. If the Jets can find two good receivers to play outside they're going to have one of those 3 man spreads that is hard to cover.
Really don't think Matthews is a reach. Sammy Watkins is far and a way the best receiver in this draft. After that you have Marquise Lee and Mike Evans who are both busts waiting to happen. After them is Matthews, I'd take him over Lee for sure. If Evans is around i'd probably go with him for his elite speed but I think Matthews is the safest pick. Evans and Lee will likely be gone anyways when we pick. Also Evans has a bad habit of going MIA for entire games. Just reminds me a lot of a stephen hill type player freakish size and speed but just raw and inconsistent against elite corners. Matthews is about as polished a college receiver you will ever get, and we need someone who can play from day one.
Please tell me why these guys are busts waiting to happen. Do you have the same reasons for Lee as you do for Evans?
If we can even find just ONE receiver on the outside who is good at getting separation, it'd improve our offense leaps and bounds.
