Tomorrow Brick will become the first Jet in franchise history to start 125 consecutive games. Comment Plz I found him overated honestly.
How many first round picks should we have used on a LT? And besides, that's pretty much the concept of playing your best players.
I didn't say we should...I just said he's not that good anymore but we don't currently have anyone better....... It's my job to think of ways for this team to get better players.
D Brick has been nothing but a class act as a Jet. He's also been a pro bowler and a very solid O Lineman for a long time now. D Brick has been a very solid NFL player, leave it at that. Congrats to him.
 Classic Jets fans trashing a player while he makes a cool accomplishment. D Brick has been great ever since his 2006 selection. Great guy too. Just because he and Mangold are getting older doesn't mean they should be insulted. They are great Jets. Nice work DBrick!
If not for that damn ankle sprain Mangold would be here too. That would've been cool Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've seen Brick miss wide open blitzers and shook my head. I've also seen Brick stack up all pro d-lineman giving Penny, Clemens, Faver, Sanchez, and Smitty a 1/2 hour to find someone open. I wonder what percentage of his 'slide' is due to his age and natural drop off and how much is due to the revolving door playing next to him and how much is due to trying to protect a rookie QB (Clemens, Sanchez, Geno) with 4-5-6-7 men rushing the passer every snap. I'm not defending Brick, I just don't know. Same goes for Mangold.
Grats hopefully he does not demand more then 7 mil a year in contract after this; his is vastly overblown
I think you are 100% on to everything right here. There is NO sport that is as much a team collective as American Football. Every single cog must perform at some reasonable level. As in any job/walk of life, there are those who stand out and can mitigate that (your Brady's/Manning's) but more often than not it takes every one of those 11 guys. The o-line play can be directly attributed to the lack of production at the QB/WR position. Vice Versa the QB/WR play...the lack of protection some time causes bad things there. The problem I see is more with the QB than the line. TWO of those guys, Brick/Mangold, have been doing a solid job for years...and they are not THAT old as far as lineman go. Just sayin'. Anyway...I'm off topic. Congratulations to D'Brickshaw Ferguson!!!!!
An enormous accomplishment for a former pro bowler and all pro. He's had a down year but let's be grateful for the mainstay he became at LT. I remember folks calling him a bust after his rookie season. Patience truly is a virtue.
Brick has indeed been to the pro-bowl...considering how few Jets get the honor you'd think you would remember. What kind of fan ARE you? lol
all-pro is different, and more prestigious than the pro-bowl. I know he's made the probowl. He has not made all-pro.
