All im trying to say is things look bad as hell right now but ask Pit fans if they thought they were making the playoffs when they were 0-4? ask Phin fans how they felt when the 3-0 start went to 3-4 and over a month without a win. Jets are going through a ton of adversity right now but we are still right there and have a game next week that will have a lot on the line. If you cant face adversity then you can make it in the NFL, the Steelers and Phins handled theirs, now its the Jets turn to turn it around.
We can stop with the playoff talk now. This team might have a playoff caliber front 7, but the rest of the team sucks and that's not gonna get it done even in the Parity (Mediocre) Era.
I agree but we do have a team capable of winning next week to, offensive personnel or not. If we didnt then we wouldnt have wins over New England or New Orleans.
The reality is that the playoff talk is not over. They are still in the hunt and will stay there for a couple more weeks. If you don't think this is a playoff caliber team, I agree with you.. but you can't ignore the reality that the 6th spot in the playoffs is up or grabs
Ummm....VERY inaccurate comparisons...those teams you are talking about are improving...we are regressing.
You sirrah are really in need of some perspective. Go look at all the QB's who have come into the NFL recently and at their first 5 or 6 games. Replacing Geno with Matt Simms is like sticking your jaw out and saying hit me real hard a few times so I can get ready for whatever comes after that. 1 or 2 wins in the the first 5 starts. That's what a young NFL QB is worth.
2009 Jets, 3 game losing streak going from 4-3 to 4-6. Adversity can come at any point, beginning, middle, end. At the end of the day, the record is what counts and it looks we will be tied with 3-4 teams with 5 games left. Next week will be pretty telling about who is going to step up and whos going to fall. Jets-Dolphins and Ravens-Steelers next week starting thursday night.
Ravens have it, they beat us. Titans could jump us too if they win. Steelers also are ahead of us. We'll still be in 2nd place in the division I guess.
