For me, that wincing is just like what I felt when Reyes started the 2005 season. I'd always get a knot in my stomach when he got into some awkward situations running the bases, but it went away after a few series. I think the same will happen with Chad.
I'll do the same thing if Chad is still standing in 15 weeks. I'm hoping he's going to make me feel like an idiot.
I was wrong as well, I applaud you for being a man, unlike mr nyjet who reaches for excuses instead of admitting he was wrong.
Nuff respect to you for respecting Chad, I was a doubter but not a hater. I publicly campaigned for Ramsey before camp opened. That was brilliant!! :shit: MIAMI WILL RETURN TO IT'S RIGHTFULL PLACE ATOP THE CF WOLRD!!!!!!
same here altho i was more confident in him coming back than breaking down. touch wood, fingers crossed!!!!!!
This one time I thought I was wrong.......but I was mistaken. Put me down as one that was wrong about Chad.
What i think we can all take from this is.....its football...and prognosticators and so-called experts are always talkin' and talkin'....its their job...and it was THOSE pundits that made it seem like what Chad was doing was impossible....All that I know and have learned from watching years of football is that the human spirit is great than the empty air-time filler opinions of exjocks, colorguys and of course the pregameshow imbeciles masquerading as brainiacs. Chad won me over a longtime ago as an unabashed backer of whatever he sets his mind to. I think he has a coach now that will use him to best of his abilities....and that is all Chad Pennington has ever wanted. OK...when do you guys send me my TGG pin?
I always felt like Chad could come back, happy to say so far it looks like I was right. On the flip side, while we're admitting mistakes, I thought we should have drafted Lawrence Phillps #1 overall in 1996 instead of Keyshawn. I thought a RB would be a better fit for a cold weather team. Ooops.
Chad seems to be a bit bigger. It seems he may have hit the weights a little during his rehab which hopefully helps his durability over a long season. I was very skeptical before training camp and I'm not completely convinced yet but so far after two games you gotta like what he has done. You can't help but root for the guy since he is such a class act.
I was praying that Chad would come back, at least NEAR 100%. He seems to have done that. However, I'm glad we drafted a QB on the first day of the draft. I wish we had a better running game to take the pressure off of him.
If we had the running game (and I think it will get better as the o-line gets better) this would be a much more potent offense. I know we scored 17 against New England in one half but teams are going to start figuring out we can't run well and plan accordingly.
If Chad lasts for 14-16 games, especially behind THIS oline, I'll be happy to admit I was wrong but until then, I'm still in wait and see mode. 2 games just isn't enough. The man still has to log his first complete season. Lets revisit this thread again in game 12 or so..
I too said he would not be able to return, but I'm going to reserve my judgement until I see him play a 16 game schedule and be consistent for a full season... even glass joe beats someone in punch out once in a while. Ellis
Tis thread was to acknowledge the fact that he even made it back far enough to have 2 300 yard games in a row. That in and of itself is a huge accomplishment, and worth of praise. As to whether or not he's still the long term solution is another story all together.
When i heard Chad was gonna be the starter i didnt expect him to play at this level, if he continues to play at that level and doesnt get hurt again where does this leave Clemens chad is only 30 which is not really old for a qb.
