Yeah I can't believe someone suggested we take a first round guard of THIS year for Ramsey who we got for a 6th rounder. Seriously, that kind of trade would've been ridiculous even in Madden the past few years. Thankfully they fixed trading this year to be more difficult and realistic.

...Don't underestimate Kelly, she has proven this board wrong before. If we could get an OG, NT, or HB for Ramsey then it's a steal, and I feel comfortable with Smith being the third string QB, because our season is just as over with him playing QB as it is with Ramsey, except Smith would probably be a hell of a lot more fun to watch... and that's if Ramsey/Smith even had a shot to play over Clemens.

you might be right with that.....i try to avoid bad mouthing the coach though...especially when guys like cadillac and Simms managed to perform last year....maybe it is the offseason conditioning though

Kelly has come through with a few and has laid some eggs. It is those little swirly things that are the most troubling.

As much as Ramsey isn't a guy I'd like to see backing up Chad, he is needed to just that. Honestly, right now, Ramsey >Clemens and Smith.

I'd do a trade, however, if the Jets have a backup plan to sign a QB greater or equal to Ramsey as soon as a trade is done.

I'd love to take Carnell off their hands. The Buc really have no 3-4 type defensive players that we need. They have no one on offense that we could get for Ramsey so I doubt we trade him there.

I'd like to Vinterception Testaverde is going to be a great teacher for a young quarterback? His weakness' include defensive reads and underneath zones. Two things a quarterback coach really has to work on. What is he going to do? Teach Simms to throw the ball really far?

How about a straight up trade with Ramsey for Simms? I don't see us trading someone we need anyway.
Davin Joseph wouldn't be a bad trade though.

The Jets can't afford to trade Ramsey--as much as we all love Chad Pennington's resurgance and Kellen Clemens' "QB of the Future" label, it's important not to forget that Pennington is one blindside hit on his arm away from finishing his career on the IR and Clemens looked pretty bad in preseason.

There's a reason that the Jets signed Ramsey to an extension, it's because there's no stability under center for us and every team should have a good veteran backup. It's not like we'd be getting anything significant in return anyway.

I still wonder why Ramsey was bought in here in the first place. He never had any real shot at taking Chad's job and most thought Bollinger was a better option at backup QB..

Well, at least Kelly is a little optomistic. :) And always comes through with the latest news.

I thought about saying the same before, then I decided against it. It's so true though. Vinny is treated like some sort of master QB around here, when he was never anything but a tall guy with a strong arm. The wind literally whistles through his ears.

I had to sighn up I usually just read but I had to add my two cents for what its worth. Trade this bum for a dirty jock strap and a blocking sled if you have to. If chad goes down we are done anyway ramsey would do no better then Kellen and at least Kellen will be learning under fire.Ramsey has been a turd for a few years now he is not even our answer for a backup. If we had another disaster like last year and wind up down to smith I am sure we could find someone out of football to backup and make someone else our third QB someonelse on our team was a college qb I forget who it was but we could use him. Anyway if they will not give a body this year take a pick for next year it will help us build our team. never should of gave up a sixth for him anyway.Brooks could have done just as good if not better if we had to use him.
