Two Words: Adrien Peterson. do what ever it takes, this guy is a stud. we'll be in the top 8, unfortunately, Green Bay and Texas can use RB's.
I don't want to be in the top 8. I also don't care about some kid out of college right now. There is no guarantee with the NFL draft, as people try to pretend there is. People latch onto players and feel they NEED them, but it's not really a big deal. We'll take the best player we need that we think can do well in our system. We'll build that system and hopefully we'll be okay. I personally think that yes, the RB can be upgraded, but the line is still the biggest problem. You can find good RBs in the 2nd and 3rd rounds for cheaper.
Dl and RB will be first day picks, but ya never know what kind of stud can drop into our lap. There's always FA as well.(and maybe a trade) I guess it's fine to talk about next April, but perhaps we should wait until we are elininated. Then again, we should start knowing what positions will need upgrades sooner that later. We can see some already.
We'll see what happens with Michael Turner. I mean, I have no idea what kind of relationship or if there was any between Turner and Brian Schott, but that could be something to think about...
we should just start Brad smith at QB all season....lets not try and win...that way we are guaranteed the 1st pick. seriously though, its not like breaking news that we need a RB, and Adrian Peterson is the best...But face it, we arent getting him. There are guys in the NCAA that have plenty of upside and arent as costly of a pick.....
I dont want to be in the top 10. We can still get a RB later. Hopefully Micheal Bush's injury will drop his stock.
The thing is, there are running backs that are just great and create their own running lanes but they are extremely rare. I think if we upgrade the right side of our O line, we can take an average running back and make him look good. Brick and Mangold will get stronger and have better push by their third year. There are so many running backs that look so good because of their offensive line. Willie Parker would not have looked like he did if he was on the Jets last year.
I agree with u whatever it takes he is going to be great, unfortunatly Green bay and the texans are most likely going to take a rb in the draft, we will have to trade with a team like buffalo, oakland or tennesee to get him
just as bad as he is with the raiders right now...and just as bad as the guys in our backfield.....the RB needs an Oline. no line, no run game
Totally agree. I just spent 8 months in the bunker. The last thing I want to talk about right now is next year. Reggie Bush hasn't exactly lit it up yet for the Saints. He has done OK, and the Saints are off to a 2-0 start, but McAllister has been the go to guy. Bush was about as highly touted as I have ever seen a back be and he has not been a world beater yet. I am not saying he isn't good - I wouldn't kick him off of the Jets, but he is not gaining ridiculous yardage like in college. In 2007, if we need a RB, we will get one, but I really doubt we will go nuts and trade up in the 1st round or anything like that. We might use 1 of our 2 second round picks or our third, but I do not see us trying to do cartwheels to get a hyped college RB. And, who knows, we are barely into this season. Barlow may really prove he has something special or Washington may really emerge or something unexpected might happen. Ya just never know. At the end of the year we will know what to do.
Lets see how the oline jels as the year goes on before we use another 1st rounder on an olineman, however that along with RB and DT badly needs to be upgraded
Thats not going to happen. There are other guys in NCAA football. Marshawn Lynch, Michael Bush[coming off a season ending injury should lower his value, but not his talent], Kenny Irons, and Garrett Wolfe just to name a few.
How big is the running back from West Virginia. He is unbelievably fast- - he may be too small though
