We have 2 home games against Miami, one in NY and one in Miami in December. Win the Buffalo and 2 Miami games and sneak out a win against Oakland, Cleveland or Baltimore. I think we may need 10 and I think it's there for us.

Head to head doesn't matter in a three way tie. It could come down to that.

A three way tie between TEN, SD and NYJ would go to Tennessee. Tennessee beat the Chargers and Jets so they get in.

Titans are toast, they got Indy and Denver. They will be 4-7 real quick.

The teams I'm worried about at this point are Cincinnati, Baltimore and Miami. Those are the teams we are most likely to be looking at as the competition for a wildcard at 9-7.

Oh wow, you're right. For some reason I thought they went to conference record for the WC spot tie. Good stuff. I'd still rather them lose, though.

    Win and we are in.

It doesn't get much simpler than that.

No one can knock us out of the playoffs unless we allow them to catch us.

Ties within the division are broken by:

    1. Head to head
    2. Division Record
    3. Common games
    4. Conference Record

Second step in the wildcard tiebreaker when the two teams are both from the same division is the division tiebreaker. First is head to head.

That way you don't get 3 teams tied at 9-7 with one of them winning the division using the division tiebreaker and then the wildcard being determined on a separate basis.

As it stands that's all 3 teams judged against the same standard for the two playoff spots with one of them winning the division and the other getting the wildcard.

This is true for every team from game 1 of NFL season

Let's hope so. Fitzpatrick hasn't played terrible and if they beat IND they are only a game back

The Jets really need to take care of Miami if they want to get in. Sweep Miami, and I like our chances.

Watching this Bucs game right now, and I think Miami will be less of an issue than perceived. Honestly, their O-line looks awful, which is what is gonna happen when two of your starters are gone, plus locker room issues... Idk about Miami.

They do look pretty bad. Dolphins O-Line is really struggling & the team overall looks really flat. If they lose tonight, they'll likely be forced to sweep the Jets to make the playoffs.

looks like the bucs are starting to lose it, dont matter. if you cannot run the ball, you cannot beat the jets at this stage. sure we'll give up throws and touchdowns but it'll make ya one dimensional, and rex will get you. especially if you're ryan tanehill

The Sons of Anarchy will destroy what's left of the Dolphins offensive line. If Ivory pounds it away and Geno protects the ball, I don't see how the Dolphins can beat the Jets.
