49-9  Im sorry but how have Bengals beat us last week 49-9 I would like to know what is actually going on with this team ,how can we possibly beat the Pats and lose to the Bengals 49-9 we made Dalton look like a super hero, the guys mediocre on a good day  u really cannot make it up ..
To make it worse...the Dolphins handed the Bengals a big L. A Safety in OT to win 22-20. They picked 3 INTs.....
Our secondary is horrible. Cro is overrated, Dee has yet to do anything, our safeties are.....wait, we HAVE safeties?...and Kyle Wilson is, while have an ok year, mediocre. But, at least Wilson isn't waving his finger constantly. Oh, and their Oline completely put our Dline on ice.
We had a bad game, it happens. The Pats beat us 45-3 in 2010 and then we knocked them off in the playoffs. A team is never as bad as they look when things are going bad just like they are never as good as they look when everything is clicking.
It was a Thursday. Seriously, it was embarassing to see how Miami beat the Bengals, and yet we had no clue.
Their strength played into our weakness. We have a weak secondary and the Bengals have receivers all over the field. The Pats on the other hand have crap receivers. Furthermore the Bengals have a much better DL. The Bengals were a way worse matchup for us than the Patriots. Also, the Dolphins actually have a consistent pass rush which helps in defending the pass. We got no rush on Dalton all day.
Oh great, another new thread for SOJFs to wallow, whine and have a pity party Sent from my BNTV400 using Tapatalk
Ok, so here's the big picture that we all need to keep in mind as we evaluate the 2013 Jets. 1. We've started 6 different guys at safety over the last 3 years at the start of the season. 2011 - Jim Leonhard, Eric Smith 2012 - LaRon Landry, Yeremiah Bell 2013 - Dawan Landry, Antonio Allen So the deep middle of the field for the Jets keeps changing as we look for long-term starters. 1a. The CB's are inexperienced with one side being held down by two guys both trying to establish themselves in Milliner and Walls. The other position is manned by a guy rubberbanding back to his true talent level after a great season last year. 2. We've got two new starters on the OL in both guards. That's a coherency issue as well. The RT is mediocre. Both of the established pros are having to do a lot to cover for the other guys. 3. The WR's are a collection of guys who are too fragile, too young, not good enough with the exception of Kerley. Nelson may give us a pickup here. He's playing for his career and if he can't stick here then his career is Not For Long. 4. The TE's have been one of the better parts of the offense but Cumberland is still not consistent and Winslow will have missed a quarter of the season due to the suspension. 5. We've got a rookie QB dealing with an inconsistent mediocre effort from the offensive line and a talent deficit at WR. From game to game the Jets can easily swing from competent to terrible and they've done this several times this year already. They'll probably do it again a few times before the year is done. This is the list of positions that will most likely have a new starter in 2014: FL, SE, RG, LOLB, ROLB, LCB, FS. This is a list of the positions where the Jets are in the question at this point: TE, LG, RT, RCB, QB. That's 12 positions the Jets do not have firmly locked down at this point and that's assuming the other 10 guys stay healthy. That's the definition of rebuilding. In 2011 the Jets had a 30+ year old guy starting at RT, RG, FL, SE, NT, LOLB, ROLB, RILB and FS. When that happens you get 2013 rosters that look like the one we have now.
Ohh these threads are fun. The Jets beat the Pats who beat the Saints who beat the Dolphins who beat the Colts who beat the Broncos who beat the Redskins who beat the Bears who beat the Bengals who beat the Jets who beat the Pats who....
Just to thoroughly piss in everybody's cornflakes this morning, what's the likelihood that these holes are adequately filled before Brick, Mangold and Harris are done? When should we expect to see them aging out?
The drafting and FA buying is the key. The development of Geno too. You are never going to fill every single hole, but if you can lock down a majority of them, you take it from there. We could easily be a team competing for the division/WC like we did in 2010 next year, or we could miss and Geno doesn't develop as expected, and we wait a couple more years. There is a chance we get everything together and it overlaps with Mangold and Brick only for a year or two, or there's a chance we get going next year and the overlap is much larger with Brick and Mangold and etc. The goal of new GM is to do just this, fix this team from the breaking point it was at last season.
Great inciteful post there Br4dw4y5ux, thanks for that. Aye, Damashek did something similar to this, everyone beating everyone
Even tho your post is very negative i cant help to agree with you on some points , this two safeties makes me cry seriously and, yes even if antonio allen did that play on the pats he is not a nfl safetie period. If Rex doesnt see the secondary as a priority in 2014 he is not watching the games. Wilson have improved even tho not to a first round pick talent i honestly see the dude is improving might be cuz he is fighting for his contract dunno. Dee is a rookie and keep cro if he takes a pay cut due to his last performances.
it is a lot simpler than that. IF Geno turns out to be a franchise QB then everything else can be fixed (name me a team with a top tier QB that doesnt have consistent success and then try to name me a team without one that does) IF Geno does not turn out to be a franchise QB then everything else we do is largely irrelevant unless or until we find one. It is a QB driven league more than ever before.
The facts are they are the SOJFs just as poster #8 said & the FACTs are they have been since 01/13/69
People are still calling in on local radio down here in South Florida bashing the Phins and the offense last night. Fans down here are not happy with the coaches and the play calling. :finssuck:
The Pats are a team in deep decline who win a majority of their games because of a really top veteran QB, a Great HC coupled with a very mediocre league. We can beat them because they aren't that good, they are a division rival we get sky high for, we know all of their flaws and tendencies and we played them at home. The Bengals are an up and coming team that's loaded. Dalton is a very good QB who has improved every year. The Bengals are starting to gel and they were playing at home. They got going down hill and steam rolled us. It happens it doesn't mean we can't get to 9 and 7 and be in the mix for the playoffs. The key to our season is going to be the 3 remaining division games against Miami and Buffalo. Neither team is anywhere as close to good as the Bengals or have a QB in Dalton's league.
