Pennington - hands down. Most Jets fans think he is a good quarterback.

Erik Coleman. Great rookie year and has gotten worse ever since.

seems to me that he's got 186 receiving yards [15.5 ypc] and 2 TDs after two games.

Its really fun to go look through these old threads from before the season starts, and then after the season starts

What an asinine thread this is!!! Only 2 games into the season - and for a team that gets absolutely no respect from anyone in the league - so what do we discuss?

Who cares about who is overated? Jets are second fiddle in New York at the moment, and we have to determine who is overated?

How about " How will the Jets win at the Bills next Sunday", thread?

And anybody who names Chad as overated needs to get off the glue. Bench him and see how the backups perform.

Wow, yes he was a replacement. But he still went to the pro bowl. So he is a pro bowler.

I hate to say it but....

Clearly it's miss sized Jonathen Vilma. Always seem him being pushed around, his tackles are all in pursuit, which is good, but no the same as stuffs. Great MLB's and ILB's make stuffs. He's always on peoples legs, after 3-4 yard pull. The 3-4 clearly doesn't suit him. Leading the league in tackles is a meaningless unoffical stat. Although a large NT could change everything. That being said, who is our best defensive player? Everyone is kinda mediocre for their positions. We have absolutely no pass rush and Ellis is no longer a force.

NOBODY ON THIS TEAM IS OVERRATED

    WERE NOT EVEN RATED.

Turn on a TV, only time we get talked about is when it comes time for people to make picks across the league.

Its going to have to be Shaun Ellis, he has done nothing in the 2 weeks.

(In Mangini's eyes it seems to be Blaylock because he keeps putting him back there!!)

Most Under-rated is Cotchery or B. Thomas

I really wonder if Bryan Thomas isn't better than Shaun Ellis at this point. Ellis might as well be invisible. I'd love to have his fat contract back.

The reason Ellis may have been jealous of the attention Abe received is because Ellis was never as good as Abe! DUH!

    Shaun Ellis and Pete Kendall.

Ellis obviously was only good because oppsing teams had to focus on Abe. Now I hardly even notice Ellis on the field. He gets no penetration, and doesn't come close to the QB.

Kendall was great when we first picked him up, but has gone drastically downhill ever since.

Derrick Brooks may be long in the tooth but in no way is he overrated. He will be a first ballot hall of famer and deserves the recognition he gets.

    Most Underrated Is Chad

When he starts we are in every game, even without a running game or a tight end.

    Long live Chad's shoulder

He wasn't good yesterday, he was exceptional

thats because ray lewis and urlacher have made a thousand more highlite reel plays in their career......to compare vilma with these two guys is simply not an option at this point in the careers....to answer theposters question: I agree vilma is a bit overrated amongst jet fans! I dont think hes overrated in the national media or in NFL circle....i think in that arena hes about given a fair amount of respect....but as far as jet fans on this board, hes overrated....and I know all the intangibles with the 3-4 and no NT and all that....BUT, listening to some of you guys on this board talk about him I would expect to see him all over the field, dropping into coverage like hes a corner and coming up with 3 or 4 huge stops and 3rd and short each game...those plays simply are not there guys...and it doesnt mean I am a negative asshole or whatever else someone wants to call me....hes a good to very good linebacker....some of you guys talk like he's LT
