More than anything else about Buffalo, there front 7 is super quick and has been able to generate much pressure along with getting 10 sacks in 2 games.
Jets front line MUST protect Chad and give him time to throw.

This is the absolute key for them having a chance to be competitive and have a shot at winning up there. If protection breaks down, write this as a loss, for sure.

Our running game cannot be relied on -as has been the case the 2 games we have seen - but, if somehow they can get off the shnide, it would be of a great hep in keeping the pressure off the passing game.

Some how though, I just don't have faith in this OL improving in such short notice.

First, there really should be no bad taste about the NE game other than we recorded an L instead of a W. Granted, there probably is no such thing as a good loss in football because the season is only 16 games, but this may have been as close to a good loss as it gets. We have to be cognizant of where we are coming from. Last year. The disarray left by Herm in Jaunary, bad contracts, bad trades, etc.

Now if we were just coming off of a Super Bowl win and NE beat us the way they did we should be infuriated.

All in all, even with an L, it was a clear step at playing hard football for 60 minutes, and there were many positives.

Now about the Bills. If Losman is as you say than the plan is relatively one-dimensional, i.e. play the run hard and let Losman try to beat you with his arm. They do have at least one good running back so that is not as easily done as is said. I do think we can hold them in check. At least I hope so. If the Bills can run with ease on us, we will have a very tough time being victorious.

On Offense, we need to really still try and establish some running game. Why? It is not just for the Bills, it is for the rest of the year. I would not count on Curtis Martin to come in at game 6 and be the savior. I think the world of CM, but I would be surprized to see him this year or perhaps ever professionally running the football for the Jets. Not to deviate, Kevan Barlow needs significantly more carries. I think he is much more punishing than Blaylock. I think the new strategy should be, use Barlow to wear a defense down, then throw in a new set of wheels in the mid to late third quarter with Blaylock/Houston/Askew. I think this would give Blaylock/Houston/Askew a chance to be more successful. Houston needs to be given a chance.

Don't change the passing game too much. If it isn't broken, don't attempt to fix it. I would like to see Brad Smith utilized more as a receiver in certain situations, but other than that anything above 225 - 250 yards passing a game as very, very good.

congrats on a hard fought game yesterday guys, the bills fan that i am, was rooting for new england to take a beating yesterday. it was a tough loss, i though you could have took it to overtime, but good game.

A few things though, i dont think the bills are overrated, in fact we are not rated at all, like you guys we were picked to be in the bottom of the afc east. No one is really praising us, but we have played some pretty solid football the last two weeks, against quality teams.

One more thing, our coaches are not afraid to let losman pass the ball, his 90 yard performance was all we needed him to do to win the game. Our D was awesome, they only had like 70 yards rushing and culpepper was running for his life all game. Dont underestimate JP, im sure your coaching staff wont be. He threw a lot of nice passes yesterday, one to evans deep for 60 yard that would have been a td if they didnt tackle him before he caught the pass, leading to PI. He also threw another td pass that was called back. We are just limiting his passing game until we need him to win games. We were in control of the whole game and just had no need to force him to pass balls and make mistakes. Our gameplan was solid.

Granted it wont work like that all of the time, but dont underestimate JP.

I look forward to a good game next week, good luck.

Yes, hope it is a good game. Under our old coach, I would be very concerned that we would come out flat as a pancake. With our new coach, we will be totally ready to play the Bills hard.

We will stil have to play a good game to win. This will by no means be easy for either team.

Underestimate him?!?! Hell, I'm COUNTING on that five-cent head of his ruling the day.

Two weeks, two offensive touchdowns. JP Losman's not beating anyone.

    Ever.

Have a good game, though, and welcome to TGG. :)

for some reason i was confident against the patriots, but i am not confident against the bills. they put up a better fight than us against the pats, and crushed the dolphins. and there defense looks fast and ther blitzing looks strong.

it will be a tough game, but i think us coming off a big win and this being our home opener after 2 weeks on the road might give us just enough of an advantage to pull out a tough win.

Pennington look suprisingly good and has me a bit concerned though, back to back 300 yard games is very impressive, considering many people thought he was done.

Ive said it before on my own boards, in 2 years the jets and bills will own this division with the pats and fins being in the basement.

Hey, I also come from Buffalo Bills forums and have been a life long Bills fan.

I gotta admit I was impressed by the amount of credit you guys gave us. For saying we're overrated you really paid us a lot of compliments with your comments about our pass rush and defensive secondary. I'm glad that you guys can discuss football in a more civilized manner than Dolphin and Patriot fans whose arguments mostly consist of "You suck. We rule." and other variations of that.

Look forward to a strong contest and hope our next meeting in Week 14 we're both still playing for a playoff spot

The Bills have surprised me lately, playing well against NE and defeating Miami.
To win we have to stop the run, big time and make losman have to win it for them, which I doubt he can do. And we need to play 2 halves, not one good one, fast start for us = success. Also another great 300 yard week from chad would help, and we need to make a change at RB (start houston).

    We're in for a Thriller!

Hey Jets fans! I am yet another Bills fan from the Buffalo message boards. I, too, was cheering for you guys to rip off Brady's head yesterday. The clock just ran out on you, otherwise you would have pulled it out because you had the momentum. Don't get me wrong, I will be cheering hard against your team come sunday, but I'm hoping for a division turnaround, with the Bills and Jets at the top. It's too bad we've both lost to the pats and both of us could have won those games. I have a feeling you're in for a very frusterating game against us. Our defense makes offenses look inferior. However, our offense might make your defense look as good as ours as well, so we'll have to see. It's all gonna come down to your protection of Pennington. He's taken some hard hits from us in the past and if we get in his head in the first quarter it could spell trouble for you. Consequently, if we can't put the pressure on, Chad might have a field day, one that Losman won't be able to keep up with. I'm gonna give the edge to my Bills at home of course, but I wish you all the best of luck.

Beating the Bills at home is tough. Anybody who says otherwise is not watching the same team.

I am glad to see Bills fans here. Better yet, I am glad to see that they are civil and just want to talk football. Let's have a great game.

If you wanna beat us, put up 20 points. Anyway you can. Whoever hits 20 first is going to win this game, I guarantee it.

Well that's an odd way to look at things.

Its a pretty simplified way of looking at it, but I think it's pretty true. I think our defense is tough so points won't come easy from your end, and our offense is only averaging a TD and a bunch of FGs per game so 20 will be tough to come by as well.

By scoring 20 points it would require the team to really overplay expectations, at least in my eyes.

haven't treally gotten a chance to see the Bills in action yet....but I know that beating them in their home opener is going to be asking a lot. All told, these teams are probably pretty even.......Bills will have the home edge

20 points may even be a stretch,im driving from Ohio for the game and the forecast says thunderstorms, which may mean fumbles and incompletions leading to field goals all day.Jets and Bills games always seem to be a tightly contested game,im just glad John Abraham isnt on your team anymore, that guy would force JP into several mistakes i have no doubt . LOL

    GO BILLS!!!!

The Jets WILL WIN this game in Buffalo.

    Gut feeling.

    MARK THIS POST DOWN FOLKS!!!!

Every year I always have a bad feeling about Bills games in Buffalo.

Only 1 year that I didn't have that feeling.

2002, Jets ended up winning in OT (Chad Morton)

Besides that, I always get a bad feeling and the Jets lose.

    WELL NOT THIS YEAR!!!!!

I have a great feeling the Jets will win. Possibly dominate.

A name to look out for in the game too: Kerry Rhodes.

If I am right then sweet, if not, well I just look like an ass. :)

No way man,we just beat down Miami on the road,Takeo will be back in the lineup, and this is our home opener.Jets only win this game if the entire Bills team oversleeps and doesnt make it to the stadium. I do however think it will be a close game.

    GO BILLS!!!
