I could see calling Pennington a disappointment but to hate him? I don't see it. Even when he played for the Fins I found myself rooting for him (I know, flame away). It was safe since the Fins mostly sucked anyway, but I have always had a soft spot for CP. The guy had a ton of heart to come back from about 3,000 shoulder injuries like he did. I can't fault which team he did it with as I doubt he had a massive selection of suitors from which to choose.

I took a quick look and I think Gholston only played some preseason snaps after his Jets days were done. I think the Bears and Cards (I'm forgetting already) gave him a gander and one cut him after a month and the other after a week. I didn't see the Wikipedia article mention anything about his playing a regular game for either. So I'm not sure you can say his career really lasted more than the two seasons with the Jets since if never played another snap. can you?

Marvin Jones? Hated? Wow. That's another one I don't get. Nice guy, damn fine LBer. Never the dominating player I had hoped he would be, but then again most aren't. He was hardly a mediocrity though. I'd say he was among the better LBers for most of his career. What am I missing?

As for me, I have plenty of Jets team members that I've hated, although most are already listed:

Keyshawn- because he was so pathetic in his constant attacks on Chrebet and because he truly seemed to believe he was a dominating wideout instead on a very good possession receiver.

Holmes- because he makes Keyshawn look like Wayne Chrebet in terms of being a good citizen. If I were a fly on the locker room wall I think I would see Holmes as a team cancer. And he is less talented than Keyshawn to boot.

Alex Van Dyke- A WR that can't catch. Need I say more?

Rich Kotite- For a franchise with a rich history of failure he is the cream of the crap.

Vinny Testaverde's (Achilles? or whatever he hurt, I always forget). The rest of him was a great Jet, but I despise that one body part. Is that being too specific? If not, I'd like to also register a complaint against Namath's and CMart's knees. How could the almighty allow these two to get old and run down?!

There are more but I gotta get some shut eye....

    Doug Brien - The kick
Neil ODonnell - Just summed up my teenage years watching the Jets
Drew Coleman - Always seemed to get abused
    Pete Kendall - Whiney bitch
Vernon Gholston - Just plain useless

hmmmm Tebow & Farve come to mind along with Santonio Holmes at times. Doug Brien was a shitty ass kicker in general. Anthony Becht kinda bothered me as well.

Since the question regards "All-Time LEAST favorite Jet", and not specifying a player, my answer has to be Bill Belichick.

This fucking guy was handed the Jets head coaching job, took it, and then quit the next day. He then went on to become the Patriots head coach, and has been nothing but a cheating, unsportsmanlike, complaining when things don't go his way, pain in the ass. I don't hate many people, but I hate Bill Belichick.

Holmes doesn't want to be here. Always whining. I'm tired of him. He's making sure he's healthy enough for his next team.

I dont think its fair to hate a player because he was drafted ahead of someone better - all you can hate there is the talent evaluators - the only players or people I could dislike are those that give no effort or are seemingly selfish - which is why although Sanchez is my most disappointing player I dont dislike as he always seemed to give 110% and to be a pretty good guy.

Alex Van Dyke, AFC Championship game drops. You give a guy a chance in a big game, and he shits on you.

Edit: also Bobby Brister, Matthew Mulligan, Neil O' Donnell, and a few other Kotite era guys whose names slip my mind, but they know what kind of POS they were.

It absolutely boggles my mind that there are so few votes for DeWayne Robertson.

You make a fair point about Gholston not really playing after he left the Jets. Still, he was not literally out of football with no other team even trying him out. I understand this is rather thin, but imo Faurot is hugely qualified to be worst underperformer ever.

    Maybe we give them co-titles.

Many here note that hate is not really an applicable concept for Jet players. I have explicitly based my answer on underperforming one's draft or trade status.

The other thing I did not mention about Faurot that on second thought makes me think I am being a bit mean to pick on him is that it was really Joe Walton's call that led him to being cut from the Jets only five games into his second season, and those of us who know Walton's story have to question how smart a move that was. It was after the cut that he went to San Diego, and to be fair his NFL career did not last more than a couple more weeks since he suffered a career ending knee injury in practice. So maybe given the role of Walton and his knee injury, Faurot deserves an asterisk or something when it comes to underperforming.

Anthony Becht takes the cake for me. Only time he wasn't holding was when he'd drop the pass right to him.

(Dis)Honorable Mention: David Barrett, Kyle Wilson (he may take the top spot before long), Doug Brien for obvious reasons, Dewayne Robertson.

I have to say, rooting for Ty Law was awful difficult.

What's with the Jason Taylor hate? I appreciate he was a Dolphin on a one-year rental but he played OK (see the Steelers game in particular) and hasn't talked trash since his departure. LT on the other hand...

Mark Gastineau. Loved the fact that he got a lot of sacks. Hated the fact that he danced around like an a-hole. Apparently, his team mates hated him as well.
