    Quote of the Week III

Hmmm. Think the distance between Pats coach Bill Belichick and prot?g? Eric Mangini, now with the Jets, hasn't led to chilly feelings, exacerbated by the tampering charge filed by the Pats against the Jets? Read on.

Belichick, asked last week if he could see Mangini's stamp on the Jets: "I don't know. I'm sure there's a lot of people, a lot of forces, that work down there. They have a big staff."

Belichick, asked when he knew Mangini had the stuff to be a head coach: "I don't know. That's not any kind of decision I have to make.''

Belichick, asked if he saw Mangini as head-coaching material: "Again, that's not my decision to make. I see coaches as coaches.... It's not anything I really have any control over, so I don't really worry about it.''

Sometimes I wonder why reporters waste their time asking him any questions. He really gives you nothing at all.

Belichick is just a real asshole, just like his Boss. It really is a shame they had that dynasty, because people like that don't deserve it.

I disagree. I think he made his answer very clear - that he wasn't going to say anything nice about Mangini under any circumstances. Hardly a big deal, but hopefully it makes clear that the idea that he's viewing Mangini like anyone else simply isn't true.

    What dynasty ???

They got lucky in their 1st SuperBowl, narrowly won the 2nd and 3rd ones.

They were lucky that there were no other great teams during that time because of free agency and parity.

The Pats won't win another Super Bowl for a long time, mark my words.

Doesnt dynasty also mean winning superbowls back to back anyway? The Pats managed two in a row, which cant be considered a dynasty.

Belichick didn't even start Brady. He got lucky that we injured Bledsoe or else they would be bottom feeders.
