Yeah they need to find solutions at back-up OT & Center. They've really struggled to find long term solutions for those spots. They likely need another guard to compete w/ Winters & Campbell
Never want to see anyone get hurt, but this won't have a tremendously negative impact on the team, IMO. Goodson is a tough loss, but I think Cribbs is an immediate upgrade over Gates at WR.
Bad, bad brake for Goodson. He came in and showed flashes of the special kind of speed we have not seen on the Jets in God knows how long. I'm rooting for him to recover and be a key player for us in 2014.
Goodson showed flashes. It's a shame we won't see him for the rest of the season. Gates is an okay 4th/5th receiver who was forced in a role too big for him. I hope he gets healthy.
Aw man, it was actually kind of comical watching Gates fall when a defender so much as breathed on him
I feel bad for Gates, the man, but Gates the Jets player? I'm glad he's not seeing the field. Didn't like what he brought to the offense/returning kicks, or lack of for that matter.
In related news, the Jets have signed RB Miguel Maysonet, a Stonybrook product who has spent time in Cleveland, Indianapolis and San Diego this season to the practice squad.
Being a Stony Brook alum and season ticket holder I have a soft spot for Maysonet. Kid came up the hard way and had great seasons at Brook, helping them make the 1AA playoffs the last two years and setting conference records for rushing. He is small, but tough with decent speed and good moves. Returns kicks as well. I don't know if he will ever get a shot, but I hope he does.
Goodson's injury just opens up the door for Ivory to show us what we all thought he was capable of. Hate to see guys injured but this is a blessing in disguise.
I can't believe you guys picked Gates up...He fucking sucks. Guys that get cut from a mediocre Dolphins team should never be picked up by anyone.
I was thinking the same thing. Anyone ever notice that the more the NFL does to make the game "safer" to more injuries there seem to be every year? I know that that is merely an impression, taking anecdotal information and so on, but it really feels that way. I wonder if that is actually true? Anyone know a place to find injury statistics?
