I was at the game, as usual, and I have to say for the second week in a row, Pennington proved so many of his doubters on this board wrong again.

For the second week in a row, he had no support from a running game.

More importantly, this formula that everyone says neutralizes Pennington just didn't work against him today. Pennington had no protection today. He was running for his life out there. New England was blitzing and putting pressure on him all day. But Pennington hung in there and made a route into a game. In fact, he threw the ball better than Brady today. Brady had a running game and, except for one play when Rhodes got to him when the Jets blitzed about 9 guys, he had all the time in the world today. Yet, Brady missed receivers. Pennington had more zip on his passes.

Pennington did an amazing job avoiding the rush and making plays. And the pass to Cotchery might have been the best throw he has made in his career. He threw the ball while falling down with a Patriot draped around his legs. Still, the ball flew on a line more than 40 yards downfield and hit Cotchery right in the hands. Unbelievalbe.

So noodle arm was flinging it again today and facing up to the pressure to keep the Jets in the game without a turnover that mattered ( the Bruschi interception was not really a turnover). It's time for Mr NY Jet and Vick Blows and Kentucky Jet to apologize to the board and admit that they were just plain wrong as can be about Pennington.

The question is, where does Clemens fit into all this?

If Chad plays like Chad, then who gives a shit where Clemens fits. If Chad is healthy, Clemens can take over when Chad chooses to hang em up. Until then, take a seat youngster

If Pennington is Pennington, trade Clemens for a toaster oven.

Lets not be hasty, that arm still could go, but it seems like it isnt bothering him at all like it did when he played last year

He fits perfectly where he his right now - an unproven Qb who is 3rd on the depth chart. Really, Pennington throws for over 600 yards in two weeks with 4 tds and 1 pick and people are talking about Clemens???? What game are you watching??????

Nah, dont get me wrong, I loved the way Chad looked. But with all the anti-Chad talk this offseason and with the way the draft played out, and Clemen's showing in camp, not to mention Chad's hefty contract and the injury concerns that many still hold, and I was just wondering where Clemens fits into our team. Ive loved Chad these past two weeks, and believe, Ive absolutely NOTHING against him

Pennington looked really good against a second tier team, he still looked pretty good against a team that was supposed to be a wake up call. even in the first half, Pennington wasn't really the problem. the problem was what is going to be the problem all year and thats running the ball which is really going to be tough.

Chad sat and learned, when he first came to the Jets. I think that Clemens will do the same. Clemens has a lot of good qualities, and he'll probably get his chance. But as long as Chad is healthy, Clemens is gonna wait.

chad was ok. he wasnt great. our recievers made plays on there own 2 short passes by chad and our recievers did everything after.. in fact chad was pretty bad towards the end of the 1st half he got happy feet. again i hope chad continues to do well. but i dont see him effecting clemens as the future chad is 30 years old.

The people who are watching these games and calling for Clemens to come in have no idea anything about football. Pennington has done an amazing job so far this year considering his problems. His shoulder doesn't seem to be bothering him yet he's shown a bigger arm this year then any time I can remember. He's got his timing back and is throwing some beautifully placed passes. The Jets probably won't go anywhere this year because of a young offensive line, no running game and a piss-poor defensive line but these are things that are expected and they should be addressed this offseason.

You simply can't ask Chad to do anymore than he already has done. He has proven that he has worked his way back from 2 shoulder surgeries. He is off to a great start this year. Let us also not forget that he has cooperated in the contract department as well. He is a leader and a team player.

Could he still get hurt this year. Sure. Any QB can go down at any time. Some may appear more prone than others, but nobody is immuned.

Clearly, Chad deserves to be our QB at this time.

im not arguing that.in fact i agree. but im arguing the fact that people are jumping the gun . now they wanna trade clemens. i didnt see chad do anything the last 2 games to make me think that.he had a ok game yesterday..but he didnt do anything for 2 1/2 qts. then if you want to technical about it those two tds passes where all cotch and coles. pennington now has a long of 71 yards this season . when in reality it was about a 18 yard floater that cotch did a good job skying for the catch and doing the rest. and coles td was all out blitz chad made a 7 yrd pass to coles and he did the rest. then to make matters worst his 2 minute drive was horrible how many qbs do you know throw passes in the middle of the field with no Timeouts left and under a minutes to go. like i said chad played ok but what did he do out there to make you say trade clemens?

Trading Clemens would be foolish. He is the long-term future of this ball club. He needs to learn and mature. He will be our QB at some point. I think Ramsey may be on a different club next year. With Brad Smith adding the dimension of a potential 3rd string QB there is little need to carry Ramsey.

The 2 TDs were all second effort and ability on our receivers, but the ball was there wasn't it. Yards after catch were something we were not use to seeing last year. If you get the ball to talent enough times, good stuff will happen.
