Teams of late aren't trading good, young players. They are trading good, old players who are a season or two away from mediocrity or retirement.

This. Rex's defense uses multiple fronts: 3-4, 4-3, 46. Having a young and athletic guy like Coples is huge in this scheme, just give him some time.

First of all I was just putting it out there. Did you really think the browns would've traded Richardson a year after they picked him 3rd overall? Of course you didn't. Neither did anybody. But when you look at it now, the browns look like the winners of that trade. We have a beast 3 man front without Coples. And not to mention Ellis played more last night and looked damn good as well. Coples is best suited for playing tackle in a 4-3 defense. He's the one guy I watch when we're on defense. He looks slow off the snap, his conditioning is horrible. Granted he's coming off the injury. But the guy is a professional athlete. He shouldn't look dead in the first quarter. Trust me I hope he does work out at OLB. Especially now that our secondary is very vulnerable. That's the one position we've lacked during Ryan's tenure here though is a Suggs.

Trent Richardson, Eugene Monroe. Big trades rarely happen. If Miami doesn't want Tannehill to turn into David Carr then they better trade for Albert from the chiefs right now. But Monroe is a very good left tackle. Pretty sure he's only 26.

Trent Richardson has been mediocre, not good.

Jacksonville will clearly not be good any time soon so stocking up on future prospects makes more sense for them.

The guy is averaging 3 yards a carry for his career so far. Injured quite often as well. Plus the browns have a pretty good offensive line. Hell Brian Hoyer looked good for the browns. You can get a good pick later in the first round. I believe we picked Wilkerson at 30. He's only our best player.

Richardson is a big name at the present time. I'm saying he's overrated. He definitely is mediocre right now, but the potential is obviously there.

Jacksonville is really only a QB away from being a tough team. They have more weapons than we do on offense. Jones-drew, Blackmon, Shorts, and Lewis. Hell Denard Robinson is better than Gates. I know, that's not saying much.

Trading Coples would leave the Jets very vulnerable to an injury on the defensive line. It would also take away one of the pieces Rex needs for his 46 look.

Coples just came back from injury after playing only one NFL season. Be more patient.

MJD is a FA, and might walk depending on how much the Jags want to spend to keep him.

Blackmon and Shorts are solid. Whoever the new QB is gonna be (likely Bridgewater) will fall in love with those two. Too bad they're wasted currently playing with the likes of Gabbert and Henne.

    Lewis isn't really anything special.

Denard is a jack of all trades type player. Doesn't have a true position.

With Wilkerson and Richardson dominating very quickly, it's easy to look down at Coples. But Wilkerson, and especially Richardson, are the exceptions here. Give Coples some time.

  12. I like what Coples has done up front. He may not be making the plays that Wilk/Richardson are..but he's causing just as much disruption as the other 2..and he does it while being moved all over the place.

There will be same games this year when he carries this front 4. He does some things physically that other members of the DL cannot.

he did the same things towards the end of last year ... stood up outside on early downs, and kicked in to the three tech on passing downs

i wouldnt say just as much but i agree ... hes had a number of hurries that have forced bad throws and incompletions that may very well turn into picks in the near future

his backside pursuit is lacking tho
