Can we start a way too early 2014 draft picks and needs

Discussion in 'Draft' started by tanknyc, May 12, 2013.

  1. I think we're likely picking in 15-20 range. That likely eliminates Lee as a possibility..but there will be plenty of skill types available . Just take the BPA be it WR/TE/RB...and move on from there. Jets are so stacked w/ picks & cap room..they can afford to go BPA at every spot & really upgrade the overall talent of the roster.

Because it's not going to be feasible. No way does NO let him get away. He'll be franchise tagged at the worst

I just saw a interview with Marquise Lee...Wow he is dumb as bricks, also has that diva likeness to him like most USC WR's...Not feeling good about him as I did recently.

We need weapons. I don't care what kind of weapons, but we need weapons. If we go defense with either of our first two picks (unless part of our offense gets addressed in FA), I'm going to be pissed.

We need to either go TE WR, WR TE, or WR WR with our first two picks.

    Followed by S/OLB.

I wouldnt be opposed to 3 straight offensive picks, I'm always of the mindset of BPA but wow if we had any kinda talent on offense we win both games easy.

Sammy Watkins is the receiver I want. Hopefully he falls to wherever we pick.

Look what the Bengals did this past draft and look at tonite's game as the result.

You have a young QB you have to give him weapons.

Tyler Eifert round 1, Gio Bernard round 2.

    Wish we had this mentality.

Andy Dalton may not be a great QB, but with the weapons Cinci is putting around him, they might make him look very good.

Jermaine Gresham in the 1st in 2010, AJ Green in the 1st in 2011, Zeitler in the 1st in 2012, Eifert and Gio back to back this year.

I wish we invested in our offense like that.

This team desperately needs Sammy Watkins.

If we did have a player of that caliber, we would have no idea how to use him or coach him.

With that being said, I hope we draft Watkins. Kid will be a dynamic playmaker in this league and god damnit we need him. Imagine Geno having Ivory, Powell, Goodson, Kerley, Hill, and Watkins at his disposal.

Lol, its said that I read through those names, and none of them impressed me until I read Watkins.

This offense needs a serious talent infusion- We need a #1 WR (Watkins or Lee), a talented mismatch TE through the draft or FA, and hopefully a playmaker at RB.

Right now we have so many unknowns- Ivory and basically all of our WRs. Hill could be a bust, or he could develop into a solid #2. Ivory could be a committee RB, or he could be a legitimate RB1.

Haha I hear you.. That post was under the assumption that all of those names play up to their potential. I really am excited to see how MM uses Goodson.. He can be the home run threat we desperately need.

Two of my favorite players in last April's draft. Bernard can do it all, run, catch, block, and play special teams.

As always, I would love to trade down & get more picks.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins in the 2nd half of round 1.
After all our history of 1st round TEs (Johnny Mitchell, Kyle Brady & Anthony Becht), - it's be great to actually land a real one.

Jordan Matthews WR is still getting no love being at Vanderbuilt, but I'll be more than happy to land him in the 2nd round.
