We have trash at wideout. FACT. We need a good 3rd down WR and we released him. I dont get it. Braylon was cheap, big, and has great hands. We dont need 10 for 150+ from him, just 3rd down catches. why on earth is there love for Clyde friggin Gates?

agree to a point - cumberland and kerley are decent players and can make plays when on the field.

who knows about holmes but he gets some slack due to the injury. he is not a superstar receiver but if he is on the field, he has to be accounted for.

it would have been nice to add 1 of the promising receivers coming out of college this past april - many of thise guys had good camps and will make an impact in their rookie year.

oh well if smith evolves into QB material this year then u can focus more on the other skill spots.

    meh

i guess you missed the part where geno was running for his life most of the game?

bad enough hes a rookie, he faced a shitload of pressure from the bucs. also, im not sure if you know this, but revis played a good majority of the snaps...

I just dont get why let him go. Im not a Braylon junkie like some of you guys but hes solid, better than Gates. Gates cant get open, never could.

But thanks for the sarcasm, Revis looked ok, but not his old self. Clyde Gates and Stephen Hill arent exactly challenging to revis. At least Bray is physical, and big.

You see how valuable Winslow was yesterday? It's nice to have young players but vets are important too. They need to consider bringing back Braylon.

They might, as of today nothing is guaranteed. They could bring him in for a few games and then dump him if he doesn't stay healthy.

Braylon has been cut from every team he's signed with, ever think he simply isn't very good? He hasn't played a full season since 2010, he's done.

As the season progresses I think the WRs will play better. The more first team reps Geno gets the better we will get as a unit. I don't think anyone on the waiver wire / FA can help us.

I agree, but I think their reasoning is that they can use Gates on special teams and Braylon is only a possession WR.

Keeping Gates and having him return kicks allowed them to cut McKnight. (who wasn't going to contribute in the running game)

And the romanticized vision of Braylon Edwards continues. I loved him when he was a Jet. I've said it before. Use your head, the Jets wouldn't cut him if he was going to be more valuable than what they put on the field Sunday. He's not the same player. If they re-sign him and he comes back with a huge game then I'll admit I'm wrong, but it's obvious that between his health and ability he's not the player everyone is remembering.

I don' think the WR situation will be that bad heading further into the season.

Hill made some great plays for us yesterday.

JK was helping open up routes underneath a lot yesterday and Gates did get open several times but the pressure was just to strong for the most part.

I don't think we are in bad shape. We just can't afford injuries at this point and yesterday's game scared the fuck out of me.

The answer is not getting older and slower at wideout.

Hill was solid and fought when the ball was thrown his way.

Pray hard that Cumberland can stay healthy cause he can go up and get it.

Kerley/Holmes -same type of player than can be on both sides of the field.

    Thank goodness for Kellen Winslow

Gates may come around and we haven't seen much from Spadola yet either.

I think we will be fine. If we see an injury, Bray would probably be my first choice. Otherwise I would be looking for a TE that is equal or better than Cumberland.

True, but it's not Clyde Gates either.
