Yet there was Smith, standing tall in the pocket and not backing down. "I was sure when I was hitting him early on he would be rattled but the guy just kept sitting in there. 'Man, how many more times I got to hit you?'" McCoy said. "He definitely stayed poised and made plays when necessary. He took a lot of big hits today. He always bounced back up and went and made plays. That guy has a bright future."
I was really proud of Geno. He played very smart and beyond his years. Hopefully his future is bright.
Clock management was terrible. What's with pissing away about 15 seconds at the end of the game with less than a minute on the clock with delayed time outs? He left two plays on the field. Deplorable and inexcusable.
You know who Geno's best friend is after a game like this?? Can you say ICE TUB!!! Hell, go from ice to hot to ice to hot...then a massage tomorrow to work it all out. Thursday's going to come awful fast!

The Bucs held the Jets to 304 yards, but Smith didn't wilt against a tough defense. "He was very poised. He was on to the next [play]," Buccaneers linebacker Mason Foster said. One thing that stood out to me was when Tampa Bay made that field goal that appeared to win the game and the camera cut to Geno instead of seeing his head go down or pout he buckled his chinstrap and was ready to roll. After seeing our rookie have that body language on opening day in a situation like that i am very encouraged. especially from the pouting we've all seen with Sanchez.
I shouldn't be, but I'm impressed that when Smith needed to bail out he did so with his eyes open and ran between the butts of his linemen rather than...

Was very impressed by the kid considering: 1) Our pass protection was subpar 2) We had no run game 3) We were rotating WR because everyone was getting knocked out by Goldson
Good team win! What the heck are some of you haters still bringing Sanchez name in this. Mark was on the sidelines with Geno and encouraging him So for sokme of you guys to even say anything negative of Sanchez is pretty lame grow up. Geno was rattled many times, and made some poor decisions but never gave up. He fought on... His 2nd half perfomance was on point thanks to great play calling by MM and Genos running ability. Now the keys to the game are: 1-Davis chasing V. Jackson from behind to save a TD 2-Geno Running or brain fart on the Bucs Defender, or gift from Refs or all of them. you decide. 3- Finally Nick Folk coming up big time on a long 48 yard field goal. Defense kept us in the ball game all day long. I know there was a poor blitz call but overall we looked good. Geno's strength right now is his also his weakness. His footwork is horrendous, but his speed is good. He locks on to receivers pretty much all the time. His short range passing is pretty good. He did get few throws in late, behind or high causing our players to get hit pretty good. We look to be a good special teams (-Kick returner) and defense. Run game is poor, blocking was mediocre as well.
I say keep Sanchez as a back up the team loves him and if Geno ever goes down he could come in and manage the game
