If we don't give them the ball at the 5 yard line they don't do shit either. Any way you look at it, you can go back and forth. Patriots weren't too hot either.
The defense showed some great things. They could be an exciting bunch to watch, especially when Coples comes back. As for the O, maybe I'm biased but damn ... I didn't feel like I was nervous every time Geno took a snap after the first quarter. Yeah he had his rookie fuck ups but he did many smart things too. Some things that another QB who shall not be named never figured out!
Geno 24/38 ,63.2% comp, 256 Yards passing, 1TD, 1INT, 1 Fumble, 47 yards rushing. And for those who call Wins a QB stat, a W. Granted the win was a gift because the Jets weren't in FG range prior to the late hit...but frankly without the 25 yard completion and the 10 yard scramble that also got the penalty the Jets don't win. Geno was shaky in the first half, but was a pro in the 2nd half. Only one game, and it took some luck to squeak it out...but a win's a win.
I love the expression on Genos face it's like nothing fazes him, unlike Sanchez who looks like he wantsto cry
hate to pull a junc, but do you grasp football? many games are won just like this one, with the defenses keeping each other in check.
The d-line play was incredibly promising. They completely shut down Martin, and they haven't generated this much pressure on the QB since Kris Jenkins was playing for us. The offense looks pretty awful, but at least Geno acquitted himself pretty well under pressure.
the blitz would have been fine if the tackle was made. nothing wrong with that call in and of itself.
Friend of mine (Giants fan) saying that shouldn't have been a late-hit flag on the Bucs; how Geno wasn't out of bounds. SMH. I'm pretty sure Geno had one foot out of bounds. Can anyone confirm?
1. When Coples returns... it's going to get REAL fun. 2. Ducasse wouldn't be so bad if he didn't suck. He's like LG version of WFH. He WILL get his QBs killed. Get this bum off the roster ASAP. Draft OG or something. 3. Geno looked OK - but he is way too slow scanning the field - i.e. he missed a sure TD pass once because he missed Kerley wide open in the window. He had better learn to scan the field while dropping back. 4. Marty rules. There, I said it. If I were Woody, I'd be paying him equal salary to Rex - just to keep him here.
nonsense. The Bucs had decent drives but were shot down due to stupid mistakes. Jets score a TD because Bucs cant stop targeting heads. Overall Geno looked better than he did against the Giants but no way I think hes still a solid starter. If we play better against a real team, come Thursday, then maybe my opinion will change. What a crazy and ugly win.
very promising, indeed. i have more confidence in geno's passing than i expected i would. he looks calm and strong. even when sanchez was at his best, he played like his hair was on fire. i hope geno can keep it going. i do worry about the offensive line. they need to gel soon. or else we'll be talking about 'what coulda been'.
