i dont care what the reporters say. ther is no way we win this sunday against tom brady and the patriots. we dont have a running game...how can we win w/ no running game??
It's not the Jet's strength that is causing people to make this pick. It's the Pat's astounding weakness at receiver and the fact that they are on the road. Chad's big day last week is making this a popular pick as people take a closer look at a Pat's offense that currently has 35 year old Troy Brown and not much else at receiver, however it is the Pat's that are being found wanting not the Jets looking powerful.
The NFL network analyst Marshall Faulk picked the Jets (Student vs. teacher ) Mangini vs. Bellycheck. I personally am HOPING for a W . One viewpoint was brought up for the optimist. Mangini knows what Bellycheck does in certain situations and Bill has no idea what Mangini might do. Just something for you to think about.
From Vic Carucci http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9662656 Can the student, Eric Mangini, beat the teacher, Bill Belichick, when the New York Jets face the New England Patriots? No, but his team should be able to put a pretty good scare into the Patriots -- as Buffalo, another presumed cellar-dweller in the AFC East -- did in Week 1 It is true that Mangini knows Tom Brady and the rest of the Patriots' offense as well as they know themselves. He no doubt will look to exploit their weaknesses and tendencies, which he absorbed as an assistant coach for the Patriots. He also has a great feel for the defense he once guided in New England. On the flip side, Belichick certainly has a feel for what to expect from Mangini. But for all of the focus on strategy, the game still comes down to talent. Despite their impressive win against Tennessee, the Jets don't appear to have quite enough of it to overcome an opponent that, for all that it lost by trading away unhappy receiver Deion Branch, still finds a way to win. One of the ways the Patriots should have success this week is in using the receivers they do have to spread the field and force the Jets to rely more heavily than they would prefer on the suspect coverage skills of nickel back David Barrett.
I'll be curious to see if Doug Gabriel and Chad Jackson play this week. I wouldn't think they could continue much longer with only 2.5 receivers on their game roster.
As a Patriot fan I think the Pats will run away with this division. I also think the Jets have a great opportunity to win this game tomorrow. I look forward to a great game. Best of luck.
Oh yeah. I'm sure one of the best head coaches of all-time is going to put an article written by "Peter Yoon" on the chalk-board to get his team fired up... Gimmie a break...The only way that stuff works is if a player says something...Like Roy Williams saying Detroit will drop 40 on Chicago tomorrow...
run away with the division??? While I think the Pats will probably win this game and the division it sure won't be a runaway. Not with the team that played last week
Ok...run away was the wrong choice of words. The Patriots will win the division before the last weekend of football.
