It will be an uneventful debut.
Low 200's in yards, High 50's in completion %, no Td's , 1 int (not of the Sanchez variety)

In another thread JetsFan posted he was hoping for Smith to tear his ACL. That is the kind of BS that is pissing me off. If criticizing those type of posts makes me condescending than so be it. Forgive me, but after rooting for this team for 46 years, 33 of them with season tickets, I don't understand why any fan would root for a Jets player to perform terribly and for an opponent to embarrass the organization in the first game of the season.

If Sanchez is any indication Geno will do very well in his first game. Sanchez has 6TD and 3INT's in his 4 first games, 1st of each season, with a completion percentage just under 60%. If Mark played an entire season like he played game one's Geno wouldn't have been drafted.

The NFL is a game of adjustments. Adjustments happen because teams have tape. Geno is raw but the other teams have little to go on. Once they do he will be challenged and that's where the rubber meets the road. Basically how he does in game one means little. It's how he does after the first quarter of the season. I suspect he is going to suck unless it turns out we have a dominating running game.

You shouldn't get so worked up about it. Rex must go is a troll and jets fan some kind of irrational lunatic and judging by his SIG possibly a pedophile. There isn't as much of that as you think though.

This is such a ridiculous line of thought. Talk about putting the cart before the horse. The Jets can't afford to piss away second round picks on one year fliers. Smith is in the Jets long term plans; get used to it.

A "Jets" fan rooting for a Jets player to fail?

    What's wrong with you?

You are no "Jetsfan". You are a fan of personal gain. No Jets fan would openly want a player at the most important position to not only fail, but tear his ACL. Not only are you a terrible "fan", but you are a terrible person.

And you do realize you are basing your opinion off of 3 quarters of a preseason game and ONE practice. I mean lets just forget the other practices where he did very well, right? Give the guy a fucking chance. Let him write his own story. If he proves to be as bad as you claim, we will most likely be looking to add another Qb in the draft.

    Youre pathetic.

I believe Marty is very valuable and can call a game to minimize problems while maximizing success.

I have seen and learned the value of good coaching.

Must suck to be you right now. Not only do you actively root against the Jets, the person you were rooting against looked more poised and resilient than Sanchez ever has. Thrown in command of the offense, leadership, a strong arm. nice accuracy, great mobility and able to make plays with his feet, and it seems quite possible you are at the start of a multi year nightmare of watching Smith as starting QB of the Jets
