I'm guessing he doesn't get picked up, ends up retiring in a couple of years, and ends up writing a book about being blackballed for some reason. No pun intended.
Zach - Thanks for taking the time to track this. I can definately see the Jets looking deeper into the next round of cuts. Usually some decent value at that point. And whoever it was who said that Ryan could get the best out of Curry, I couldn't agree more. If not Curry, I wouldn't be surprised if he sees someone else that he saw "something" in that he could develope.
Richard Quinn is on there. I remember I wouldn't have minded taking him in the middle rounds but never in the 2nd round like Denver did. He flopped hard. Good thread. Probably too early for anyone of use to be cut, but come final cutdown day, I'd be surprised if there wasn't some turnover at the end of our roster. I think Idzik will tinker a lot with the end of this roster until we find the right players.
So the list goes to: Richard Quinn [TE], Aaron Curry [OLB], Kenny Phillips , Chris Hope Anyone else with interesting outlook?
honestly, I don't think anyone on your list can help. but, you have the right idea. look at doing the same thing after the cutdown to 47 Saturday. at that point, up to 6 unclaimed players can be added by teams to the practice squad. so, even after that, you can still sign somebody.
What's the problem with Chris Hope? I know he was hurt a lot and overrated, but given what we have at safety... Id jump on that. I would not touch Kenny Phillips. The Eagles look like they may have to cut Colt Anderson. I'd take him in a second, he's a ST beast and a servicable safety. Its between him and Kurt Coleman, and it appears that theyre leaning towards keeping Coleman.
First round of cut complete. [And updated.] There isn't much here. Probably they are all headed to Walmart as potential grocery baggers. Aaron Curry and Kenny Phillips shouldn't be touched - they busted their knees.
So the first round of cuts are done - it is very likely that these are at best dead weights that will not contribute much. I will update this list as often as needed - that's what little I can contribute to this community, I guess.
Just looked through that list http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000233304/article/roster-cuts-for-all-32-nfl-teams talk about uninspiring
Is the fact that we cut the three (definitely 2, maybe 3) best players out of the first wave of cuts something we can be excited about?
If Idzik is worth anything you would have to think he at least knows the Seattle roster and how loaded they are
