Sorry if already posted. apparently Cromartie slamming Hill hard on a helmet to helmet hit after a catch in the red zone. http://msn.foxsports.com/lacesout/antonio-cromartie-is-getting-physical-with-his-own-team/ hope he has the same fire when season starts. Knocking out our potentially Number one receiver is not too smart....IMHO
Although helmet to helmet shouldn't be happening in TC, opponents are going to be just as rough and worse on Hill.
Too bad he looked like a pussy against Jacksonville. He has done this for the past few seasons in camp, although he showed up physically last year during the regular season.
So that brings his total tackles this pre-season to 1. I'm all for practicing hard, but we need our team to last 17+ weeks of the regular season. They can't do that in a wheelchair.
What's Cro s'posed to do? Escort him into the end zone? Hill held on to the ball...that's good. Lesson learned.
After seeing the vid, that was NOT a bad hit...Cro lowers his Shoulder, Hill Lowers his head... Reporters are fucking begging for followers for their damn tweets and they get posted as "stories" on the interwebz. This shit is out of hand. Tweets and Blogs is NOT fucking reporting. Too bad the Fox, ESPN and other twats rather get hits than actually get facts...
The offense was lighting up the defense. So Cro gets frustrated and gives an unnecessary hit. Didnt this happen last year during Jets camp? And the year before that?
With all due respect, what are you talking about? Cromartie didn't go anywhere near making "head to head contact". Cromartie made a strong tackle by lowering his shoulder, not his head. Textbook tackle. Stephen Hill on the other hand was the only player in which lowered his head. Still no head to head contact either. Stephen Hill was at fault here for lowering his head. Cromartie was practicing hard, and make a textbook tackle on a WR lowering his head for contact.
I love it. Intensity in practices beget hard hits in the actual game. This is the rex ryan brand of football, he brought a culture to this team and something worth fighting for. We are seeing the players respond to the threat of his departure. Hill needs to learn how to hold on to the ball
Fuck anyone who gives Cromartie a hard time about that, media or fans. He plays the game of football, I'm glad he's out there hitting and being intense. Cromartie was right - "don't cry play ball"..
