MM has to pick from a rookie with a busted ankle and 5th year QB that ran the clock out at the half on the other team's 2 yard line. Whoever makes the decision, its not looking good for us.
The mods made a uni-lateral decision to delete my ava. Too many TGG members were staring at it instead of clicking the adds. That plus Goolge AddSense (the primary money maker for TGG) told the mods to delete it or do without AddSense.
If Geno plays in #3 but Sanchez gets the final nod, then Sanchez heads into the regular season without the benefit of this week's practice and without the benefit of the 3rd (and final) preseason game. Would you be willing to sacrifice a win against the Bucs to give Geno one more shot?
More than willing to sacrifice the win if it means Geno's rookie blunders are fading by the bye. Losing to the Bucs with Sanchez starting and the Pats on tap is going to really blow chunks. Because at some point soon after that the Jets are going to be 1-4, 2-3, something like that and here comes Geno because the Steelers are in town and the Jets can't have the game be a succession of "here we go Steelers, here we go" and "Booooooo, Sanchez sucks!" So then we'll get the Geno rookie blunder period just as the schedule turns brutal and the next thing you know we're 3-8 and the sky is falling.
Your post implies that giving Muck another start will somehow mean a win against the Bucs. If the Jets win against the Bucs, which I hope they do, it will be because they overcame Sanchez's shitty play and multiple turnovers, whether or not he takes another pre-season snap.
Start Geno vs the Giants. We know what we have in Sanchez, one week of practice with the 1's isn't going to be the difference between Sanchez being mediocre and him turning his career around.
Would you be willing to just hand Sanchez the job knowing that he is what he is and that will most likely lead you to a season that misses the playoffs- which will ultimately cost Rex his job? At this point, we have nothing to lose by playing Geno vs the Giants and continuing this competition. Id rather get some tape on Geno in an actual game than just handing Sanchez the job. Just because we start Geno vs the Giants, it doesnt mean we will lose vs the Bucs. If we do lose, there will be many reasons as to why, and Im pretty sure that will not be a significant one.
1) We all know what happens when Sanchez is handed the job without competition. Therefore keeping Geno in the mix keeps Mark more focused. 2) We are not beating the Bucs opening day/Pats 4 days later or having a winning season, so what difference does it really make if Nacho gets a few less reps in practice and still starts.
I live in Tampa and I think that Tampa's offense might be worse than the Jets. Tampa's offensive line is awful.
I think Tampa will be able to run at will on us and I had that thought before Coples went down. The only way they don't rack up 200 yards on the ground is if we are able to get up by 2 TD's early.
When Sanchez played as long as he did yesterday I was wondering if they were playing this as if they had 2 week 3 games. Sanchez gets this one, Smith the next. At least that's what I'm hoping.
Google's going to be a crasher in the next big shakeout. Ad revenue is a particularly vaporous form of income in an environment in which new ways to sell are opening up every day.
Rex is too stubborn to admit that Sanchez is done. He is too emotionally tied to "his players" and Sanchez is his player. Rex is gonna do down with that ship. Its his fault we're in this mess, not Sanchez, who is consistently bad and would not even be in the competition if it were any other coach. To quote GGN: "He is a poor QB, we all knew that coming into this game, in fact we knew that a long time ago. His mentality looks weak, he has problems on the simplest of throws, he still doubts himself to the point that it is detrimental to the team and he still doesn't learn from his own mistakes, regardless of how many times it happens."
He's a basket case here, needs a change of scenery....Wrecks ship will sink with his undying love for this clown
