Jones can't play right tackle. So you better be putting Kendall to right tackle or Steve Morley/Cavka out there, because I trust them more than Jones. Not a knock on Jones, he just isn't suited to play there.

Why can't Jones play right tackle?

Jones was moved not because he was struggling, but because Fabini was injured. Fabini was a mess with injuries this year. Jones has only been playing tackle for about three years total, and the admirable job he did on the left last year as the season wore on showed me that he's more than qualified to play right tackle.

Steve Morley is a nobody. I will be surprised if he ever contributes. Think about your comments before you speak, you trust to NEVER starters more than Jones? You'd rather have an unknown commodity out there than a guy who did a pretty good job at left tackle last year? It doesn't add up. Jones had a rough start but that's to be expected. He's a superior athlete and now he has a year under his belt.

He is simply too small and is not a good enough run blocker to play on the right side. If you look at the trend most right tackles in the NFL are big and good run blockers because the left side is where the big bruising ends are (Ellis, Peppers, Umenyiora, Vanden Bosch, Hayward, etc.) Maybe my comment about Morley was a bit out there, but I'm not against giving Cavka a shot at right tackle assuming he puts on 15-20 more pounds over the offseason.

Please, PLEASE let Millen be that dumb. Abraham and a 3rd for the #9 overall? You have to jump all over that.

Ok so with Pennington restructuring to make 3-2 million a year I assume that frees up about 9-10 million dollars?

As much as I'd want to see Abe stay in Green & White, I know it isn't happening. This is definetly the best deal we can get for him, and I sure as hell hope Millen is that retarded enough to pull the trigger.

Having the #4 and #9 overall should raise some interesting possibilities.

Secenario: Trade abe + 3rd rounder for 9th overall. CBA is resolved and goes up 10 million. Renegotiate Chad

    #1a) Cutler
    #1b) Haoti Ngata
    #2) Maurice Drew
    3Comp) OC / G
    4) CB
    4Comp) WR
    5) ILB
5Comp) FB...BAP rest of the way

    Sign:

    Kevin Shaeffer (OLT)
    Tom Ashworth (ORT)
    Willie Mcginest (DE/OLB) vet presence
    Chris Baker (TE)

    Move:
    Kendall to OC
    Jones to LG
have moore and third rounder battle for RG

very athletic line. Backfield of the future in place. We could still sign ramsey for a 5th and have a great competition at the QB spot. Middle of the defense is taken care of for the long term. Mcginest brings 3-4 knowledge and veteran presence for yongsters.

I really like Lendale White. BUT i would rather have Deangelo to give us some flare. Can u really think of a Jets rb who was a homerun threat. I wouldnt complain about picking Lendale and i would be content but deangelo is that shifty speed guy that teams drool over

And he's got great hands. He would be a nice weapon for whomever we have behind center.

Honestly, if we get the #9 pick, ALL that matters is that we have unbelievable versatility heading into the draft, and itll go a long way towards improving our team. We can argue about the picks all day, but the bottom line is that we should come out of this draft with some very, very solid players

Do not forget guys that we have to PAY those #4 and #9 salaries.....

of course they will be structured to benefit the club the early years but eventually picking so high can make for some unhappiness deep into the contracts.

hopefully the contracts of the 1st 3 picks (assuming 2 first and a high second) will be laddered so they are not the same term and can be re-structured at different times. likely a 6-5-4 term structure.

    we'll see

That would be sick havin 2 top 10 picks- now we can draft high offensive and defensive skill. Abe and a 3rd for the 9 spot. I'll take that anyway. It's like trading our 3rd for a 1st since we were gonna lose abe anyways.
