Geno passes the eye test and seems much more mature than what Sanchez was when he came up. Sanchez was marketed as a hardworking son of a firefighter and other bs comparisons. He has since proven an embarrassment and fraud. Our hotdog eating metrosexual qb can't hold geno's jock. The fucken money he makes to suck, is grand larceny, and the pricks only positive attribute going forward would be as an example to geno on what poor ball security does to a team. Geno seems like the type of kid to take the game seriously. If he is given even half the support and patience Sanchez has received, geno will quickly put this Sanchez debacle to bed, and bring a renewed sense of hope.
Make no mistake. I still think Geno is nothing but glorified Joey Harrington. That said, if Sanchez was playing for that Detroit team [coincidentally coached by Marty] it would have been hilarious - could have very well pulled 0-16 twice. [Marty pulled 2-14 then 3-13 before getting shitcanned; but then, you cannot pin all that on Marty - that Detriot team was a total disaster. Charlie Batch, Ty Detmer, Stoney Case and Joey Harrington to boot. Oh my god.]
How are you getting a Joey Harrington comparison when it comes to Geno? I see a poor man's Jay Cutler. Arm isn't as strong but he can fling it.
The best QB out of QB-weak draft class. That's all there is to it. I do agree this assessment is a bit harsh, but I am sticking to it until Geno proves me wrong. [He is doing his best in that regard.]
I agree that he needs to prove me wrong also, I still feel we don't have the QB of the future on this squad. Remember Jay Cutler is the best QB in that overrated draft with Leinart and Young. Geno has a long way to go, I find it fascinating that people are already crowning his ass. Beating Sanchez shouldn't be that hard.
funny, you break down play by play, shit on guys like manning and favre and tell me its all about winning.
Yeah, cuz football is rocket science. Takes a special breed to understand what he is watching, even if he watches it for four decades. You are a homer and don't realize it. That's your problem. It also takes a certain distinct brand of fixated warped mind to endlessly repeat one's self on a message board, trying to convince others of superior knowledge. Tell me again about fantasy stats and big spots. Fuck you...and, of course, you'll think that I'm saying that because I "lost the argument," which is a big reason why I say it in the first place.
Much Sanchez is an embarrassment to the team and his presence is an insult to every decent player. The sooner he is gone the better. Let's go Geno!
I feel like a culprit for perpetrating that article that quotes Baldinger... Can we please wait until more than one session of post-practice gassers implicates bad conditioning by Geno? It's a passing concern until it becomes something chronic.
Fellow fans of the Green & White, I'm an aspiring writer and have covered mainly baseball to this point. Released my first Jets article today and would like to share with you. It's about the potential for concern with Rex possibly being a different coach if silenced by the new regime. If you're on twitter I'm @PeoplezPen thanks in advance and I look forward to any comment NY Jets: Drawing Lines In The Sand wp.me/p38eso-1X

Well-written! However, I think you're exaggerating the "circus" nature of the Jets and I honestly don't see this as very controversial. I would love to see you write a post about the players or schemes rather than the dynamics of the organization which, though it is really important, I don't believe is as worrisome as you make it out to be. Idzik seems to be a straight shooter and I like what I see. Also, this probably shouldn't be in the Sanchez thread.
I assume you are talking about this: http://getrealfootball.com/2013/07/...e-sand/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Heavy on rhetoric and light on substance. It reads like a beat writer article, actually. I'm assuming that is what you were aiming for. Sorry, but I don't like it. You need to talk about football and not drama. There is already too much of that swill available already.
Glad you read it and liked. I am just writing since feb and growing. I plan to cover the Jets and more in depth like you suggested, this was just my initial thoughts to the start of training camp. I too like Idzik. Do you have twitter? And may I ask, did you read any of my other articles? Thanks again! Andy PS - didn't realize it was Sanchez thread til after it posted
Abysmul: I wasn't going for the beat feel, or trying to create drama. Just my initial reaction to the opening of camp. I will do better by you, my word. Did you like the writing at least? My work would be meaningless without feedback and readers, so thank you for your time. Did you read any other articles, and do you have twitter?
