I love it, I love it.

Hill is gonna have himself a year folks, and it seems he's building that chemistry with Geno I was hoping for.

Pace can finally be someone for us now that he's not counted on as a consistent piece. Good to hear.

I'll say, as a Jets fan, this camp has been really refreshing for me. Last year was so terrible. Now there is a legitimate QB competition, a real Offensive Coordinator, Rex seems to be focused, no Tebow, etc. I really like it. Not a circus at all. In fact, if you are not a Jets fan, you should not be too interested in the team at all right now.

After reading only a few days of training camp it's hard believe that expectations are low for this years team. I know, I know take the green goggles off. Still, the start of this years camp is 'night and day' better than last year. It feels like it's going to be a 'fun' season. ahhhhhh LOUD NOISE Can't wait!

Shhh don't let them find out until the season starts.

I love reading the dumbass articles that get written about us.

  6. This is a likeable jets team. A lot of young kids fighting for starting positions & roster spots. There's some serious untapped talent too. This isn't early Mangini era w/ a bunch of overachievers.

The national media can bash the Jets & call them an expansion team all they want. They can't even get their facts straight( See clowns like Heath Evans & James Walker)& their credibility is non existent. These are the same no nothing hacks who wrote off Indy last year & the Giants of 2011.

It's good to read that Hill is having another good day at camp, WR was a disaster last season.

I'm psyched to see how the front 7 on defense plays this year.

Watching Rex's Press Conference right now, I have to ask, is Rex himself anymore?

Remember when he said he had to be himself. He can't coach any other way. He preached that non-stop for years. Now he is clearly not being himself anymore. Answering questions more like Bellichick, instead of himself. Hopefully it is because he has progressed as a coach and a person, but I think it may be more because he has to. Hope that doesn't hurt him in a negative way.

He might finally be learning to not put the weight of the world on his players with the Super Bowl predictions.

Wouldn't be surprised if Idzik is putting his foot down on Rex's loose lips. If so it's probably a good thing...

    I miss the old Rex

You can still have fire and passion without guarantees

I think he's tired of being a joke to the media

Under-promise and over-deliver is a tried and true formula for success.

    Yes 100%.
That and "all we can focus on right now is our game against Tampa Bay. We're only allowed to play 1 game at a time."

I like to think that I have at least some ability to analyze my own thoughts, beliefs and actions and understand where my biases or just plain incorrect actions are or have been. I think most normal people are capable of this to at least some degree.

The national media does not have this ability when it comes to the Jets. The circus tag has been attached and now everything that happens now falls under that umbrella, even if it's the same thing that happens at every other camp (i.e. a small scuffle/fight) or even if other teams have a much more circus-style off season (the Pats).

Honestly I don't usually care, I've kind of gotten over it and don't really care what ESPN or whoever thinks. The only time it still irks me is when the NFL themselves do it, on NFL network or NFL.com. As far as I know it's the only professional league that openly mocks one of the teams and only every focuses on the negative for that team. I don't just mean an analyst who doesn't have only positive things to say and doesn't think they are a playoff team, that's fine, but when they have articles on there saying the Jets are a circus and just openly insult the team for no reason it pisses me off.

Even their instagram account has been showing picks from camp for other teams with guys making great grabs, pictures of up and coming rookies or free agents people haven't seen in a jersey yet but for us they showed them walking back to the dressing room because it was rained out and said something like "Jets are rained out" or some crap. Really? Couldn't have just shown Rex laughing with a guy on the sideline or some pictures from drills earlier in the week? No. It had to be that one thing because it's A) not positive and B) open to small minded people to make obvious pot shots, i.e. "more like washed out lol" or "Shouldn't practice anyway since they are so bad!!!!11!!!1!one!!"

That still bothers me, and I know it shouldn't...but it does. It gives me that little extra hope that we can stick it to them because you know that if by some miracle we're a playoff team this year they are going to be doing a complete 180 and saying how they knew we were a better team and they end up losing credibility and looking like an idiot in the process. Unfortunately I'm not convinced that will happen this year but I guess we'll see.

    It's almost like the bluster is linked to his belt size... ;-}

Seriously, the best part of Rex is getting guys to play for him - if he can keep doing that, it doesn't matter what he's feeding the press

Coaching as himself doesn't mean he hasn't gotten sick of these bitch-ass NYJ beat reporters. He knows that they will take anything he says and twist it into some bullshit story to make fans mad and get some hits.

He doesn't have to have changed to realize there's no point in talking too much to these assholes.

Hill is going to be absolutely crucial this year. Last year I think he missed a good portion of TC due to injury (unless I'm mistaking him with Kerley). It's good to see him making contributions.

Yeah, good point. They have gotten out of control. This is a good approach by him, when you think about it like that.

Exactly. Im sure that when it's just him with the players behind closed doors he is the same confident coach that fires up the team. At least I like to think so.
