Just heard it on NFL Network's NFL Total Access. They had Paul Edinger (former viking), and a former 49er and former redskin kicker tryout. I don't remember the other 2 names, but it looks like they are trying to send a message to mike nugent to get his act together.

I'm with you on this one. The problem becomes much more serious when we need a FG at the end of the game from the 32 and conditions are perfect and he hangs it out to the right for no reason and we lose the game.
New regime. As far as I'm concerned every player is fair game. What happened in the previous years is the previous regimes fault. If he was a second round pick, that doesn't mean we keep him for that reason. Whichever kicker gives us the best chance to win should be player. If that's not Nugent, then ship his ass out. Same goes for every position as far as I'm concerned. Monsanto Pope obviously couldn't handle it, so he's gone.
Ive been out of it cause im not at home but did nuge actually play that badly... The NFL.com report made it sound like he was kicking the wrong way

Yes, he missed a point after touchdown, and 2 very makeable field goals. One from the 34 and the other from the 30. Everything went wide right.
He deserves one more chance though, its week 2 and kickers are already working out. Why not wait another week to see what happens and then bring in guys if he plays poorly
If Nugent will be cut .. its gonna be a total waste ... we basically sent Heath Miller to get Nugent n Jolley ... hopefully Nuge comes back n has a killer game
