I'm trying to remember if "La Máquina de la Interceptación" had many in TC last year. In other words, is this one of those things that doesn't rear it's ugly head in camp, but once the regular season starts and the pressure is on for real, "La Máquina" goes into action. Some QBs look great until the real game. Parcells had a way of putting it: "I don't want to see this kid throwing in his back yard. I want to see him when he's under the lights and beat to hell and his team is down 31-10 in the 4th quarter."
i'm not sure if people know this, but dawan landry was rated a better safety according to profootballfocus than laron landry
I don't know if he will be better and I would have liked Laron back but laron was very overrated last year, he's not a huge loss.
Via JetsTwit Quinton Coples was heard as he was chasing down Geno Smith yelling “You’re not that fast!”. After he got him he yelled, “No-yard gain! No-yard gain!”.

Damn... There goes our depth at DB. Hope everyone else can stay healthy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Our Defense is going to be something to watch this year,, I just hope teams think this is a rebuilding team and an easy win. They are going to be in for a shock. Under the radar works for me. Go JETS
Seems like you're just assuming that to me. Smith got injured, Kaep blew it away, got the starting nod for the rest of the season. I don't think Harbaugh had any plans on pulling Smith for Kaep before that.
Yeah it's an assumption but why not go back to Smith he was on fire Kaepernick was his guy from day 1, not saying he didn't care for Smith but Harbaugh knew what he was doing
I don't agree. He was ranked the #2 SS in the NFL if I'm not mistaken. He had receivers trembling! I doubt his older brother does better at his current age, but we'll see. Landry was easily top 3 defensive player last year on the Jets. If he was back, the top 25 list would have been 1. Cromartie 2. Landry 3. Dabrick, etc. I know it's not the same, but I think he even led all safeties in fantasy points (or was #2 been a while since I checked that out).
Landry made big hits and could scare receivers. In that way he was helpful. But pro football focus didn't seem to like him too much, said he was a liability in coverage (didn't like Bell for that matter either). I think his loss won't make as big an impact as we think. I also think he's gonna miss a few games due to injury. I hope he doesn't because I like him as a player, but I was amazed he made it through last season.
He was a big hitter but that was about it. Some big hits combined w/ the 1 play at Miami got him to the pro bowl. I am not saying his brother will be as good I just don't think it was a huge loss losing him. I thought Bell was the bigger loss among the safeties.
That is a ranking that doesn't seem to take into account the fact that Rex alternated Landry and Bell between FS and SS throughout games in 2012 depending on what play was called. He really was a disappointment in coverage, even with the speed he had.
