Yes, an absolutely pathetic performance even if it was against the team I think has the best chance to win the AFC. I thought Monkey Nation would lose a close one here. So much for that. They are too pathetic even with those great heights, weights, and 40 times. They will not win a game in September. They'll lose to Baltimore next week and that's it for the month for them.
This was a dreadful performance. Possibly one of the worst played/coached offenses i've seen in a while.
I think the Randy Moss situation may play-out better than the TO situation this season. We'll have to wait and see, but I like the direction things are headed.
wow aaron brooks looked horrible...the only good thing the raiders did all game was during the player introductions, when lamont jordan called robert gallery "undertaker", cause he definatly looks like the undertaker
After watching ten minutes of that game, I firmly believe that the Raiders are the worst team in the NFL. I thought Tomlinson was going to break the single game rushing record after the first quarter he had. If the Raiders might have kept it somewhat competitive at all, that was a possibility. Both Merriman and Castillo are excellent. It's going to be hard for Schottenheimer to screw up this year, particularly since the rest of his division looked so clueless this weekend. I think it's high time to put the BUST label neatly on the forehead of Robert Gallery. -X-
You guys are to harsh on the Raiders. This is an exciting team of track stars! Just look at their 40 times!
Like your point about Vermeil, Jaws and Nessler. It's like Vermeil never took a broadcasting class, and it's refreshing. And he knows that team like the back of his hand having coached KC. He's like Madden, without all the silliness.
If you guys knew the height, weight, 40 times and the duane starks is good cb. Kelly=14 sacks, young d 23 years old. Gallery=great o-line. Jeff george=experience. Then Id say the raiders are a good team.
I am very careful not to make bold predictions about particular games and players, as I don't claim to have any greater expertise than anyone else on such issues. I do think, however, that if you're going to do it, you should be willing to acknowledge it when you're wrong. I find it, shall we say, interesting, that a certain Raiders fan has not appeared on this board since Sunday, after saying the following things in the days before the start of the season (the first one refers to Andre Dyson): I count 5 specific statements, none of which was correct, and a dismissal of a player who ended up having two interceptions as not being any good.
What's the over-under on RaiderJeaux's return this season? I'm guessing two weeks before the '07 draft.
At the very least, he'll show up before the Jets/Raiders game and offer some heights, some 40 times and some trash talk.
I really do feel bad about this. Seriously. That was the worst professional football game I can remember seeing in I-can't-even-think how long. Transvestite, pirates, road warriors, and smog monsters littered throughout the stands; all had their hopes stolen from them before the end of the first quarter. And all Uncle Arty could do is stand on the sidelines with a not-so-bright look on his face. Someone's got to shine a flashlight into his ear and make sure his pilot hasn't blown out. I don't think the guy changed his expression or moved a single muscle all game.
I wonder if it's possible for a mod to force those Raiderjoe quotes into his signature. They're beauties. Although...I doubt RJ would ever show his face around here again until the Raiders actually win one. And that could mean we may not see him for a good decade.
We'll only see Raiderjeaux IF the Raiders win a game this year. Pending they don't, he'll come and gloat about how the Raiders are going to get Adrian Peterson or Calvin Johnson, but in fear of becoming a Raider they both decide to stay for their senior seasons. At this point he will retire from TGG for good.
