Let's be honest for one minute people and realize that week one is over with. We don't get to play the Titans for 15 more weeks. Once tuesday begins, all attention needs to be turned to the team next on the schedule, the Patriots. Yes, I was excited about the JETS win, outside of Nugent's performance, but it's a new week. Mangini came prepared to quiet all the skeptics in his debut and he did. The JETS are a good team but we don't have all the pieces in place yet to win it all. As a JET fan, I'm going to take this season in stride and be ready for roller coaster that is the NFL.
No but we get two against Miami. Two against Buffalo. We Get Oakland We get Houston. We get Cleveland. We get Green Bay. 10-6. This year.
Do we play the Titans again the last week of the season? But seriously I only enjoyed the win for 5 seconds...
To get to 10 & 6 we only have to get 3 out of 6 against NE, Buf and Miami because we also have Detriot and MN. This is both potentially a rebuilding year and a playoff year. The TN victory was a huge one because it helps both causes dramatically.
I don't see the need for this thread. I haven't seen anyone claiming the Vince Lombardi Trophy is ours yet...
all i know is the team showed some aggressiveness and imagination on offense for the first time in years - not settling for field goals and punts on defense they looked very fast, tackled cleanly, and looked like they had a nice base to build on plus not one wasted timeout in either half because of play clock or personnel issues
I'm thinking the Jets go 7-9 unless they magically discover a running game... if someone gets out there and starts putting up 4-4.5 ypc, then I think 10-6 is very realistic... if Chad gets hurt again, then I'd say less than 7-9 even...
I disagree with that completely...if we go 6-10 it will be understandable, but not a success! Anywhere from 8-8 to 10-6 would be a success...
You know the Bills will come away with one of those wins, they always somehow do. Dont underestimate Cleveland, but we should definetly beat Green Bay and Houston though.
We get Nugents head out of his ass and start Barlow then the Jets have a great chance. That's honest.
The way I see it, we have the toughest stretch of the season coming up now, with the next four games. We have: Week 2: NE at home Week 3: at BUF Week 4: Indy at home Week 5: at JAX If we can finish this stretch with a split, making us 3-2 with 11 games left, including 6 VERY winable games at the end of the season (HOU, at GB, BUF, at MIN, at MIA, OAK), I think there is a very good chance we could go 9-7 or 10-6
I think Nugent will get kicked around this week by Westhoff, and probably mangini as well...i think his confidence came into play, after the missed XP, it went all bad from there...so as long as he makes his XP, and the team has his back, i think he will be ok....its a new week so he gets a fresh start
Yep...tough (except for maybe week three vs. J.P. Lostman and the Jills)..I agree with your assessment.
i dont think after the tennesee win ppl are starting to rave about the jets being a top team in the league. And i agree that we really need to look ahead at a very tough game against the patriots. but, the week one win really inspired a lot of confidence. pennington played smart, coles showed he can be a deep threat. the defense was very solid for the most part. im not saying that pennington will be the MVP and the jets are in for a great season. who knows? they might have a good to great season or they might not. It's not like the jets are going around with their noses in the sky boasting about how good their team is. they know as do the fans that, there is a lot of work in store and mangini will definately work them.
