And Hobbes, I'll remind you that in the two years He had Pennington Schotty ran a top 10 offense in one of them and was on pace to do it again until Penny went down and was replaced by a QB who basically mirroed Sanchez's stats for the half season he played, which knocked the Jets offense down to I think 18 or 20 if I recall correctly.

But you ever so much like ignoring that.

schotty never had a top 10 offense. why do you keep saying that?

The two years he had penny the Jets ranked 25th and 26th in yards. They were 25th and 18th in points. How in the world does that equate to top 10?

Schotty is a piece of shit OC. The only time his offense looked good was when he had a HOF QB who told him to shove his retard playbook up his ass. His offense was near the bottom of the league in yards and points again this year btw ... with yet another QB.

You can always find an exception, but for every exception you give I can give you many many many more who didn't. For example just about any Jets QB not named Namath, O'Brien, or Pennington.

    Just what the fuck?

Jets offense never ranked inside top 10 under Schottenheimer. NEVER.

When Favre was playing for the Jets, Jets were #9 in scoring. By total yardage, they were squarely at #15 - that's not how you spell top 10 offense.

And that was one of the better days for Schottenheimer. Just what the fuck are you smoking? Pennington and top 10 offense? In 10-team NFL or something? Good fucking riddance.

    Yeah. Watch the St.Louis game.

Bradford gets picked on a long developing 5 yard pass play outside the numbers by Eric Smith, and gets strip sacked later.....gee...any of that look familiar?

Vinny Testaverde says hello. Turnover machine, on a level that would embarass Sanchez.

Comes here. Different coaching/system..gets it together.

Yes, because if one guy did it then every other guy will do it. Just like how "OH ELI SUCKED AND THEN TURNED IT AROUND IN YEAR 4! DA SANCHIZE WILL DO DA SAME THING DOE, BRAH!".

lol, Sanchez fans just kill me. Nearly as bad as Tebow fans.

When you have to take a four year starter back to QB 101 then guess what, you've had a problem for four years and were too blind to see it.
Listen folks, no matter what the system is or who's system it is, your starter should have at the very least, a solid understanding and solid football basics to operate within it.
No doubt the last two OC's left much to be desired, with our boy shades way in over his head last year. That being said though, the play of the QB weighs heavily on how that system looks in both execution and effectiveness.
Marty's hire could end up being the most important acquisition this organization has made in the last five years. With Rex you knew what you were getting an acknowledged and established defensive brain who would bring you a top ten defense consistently. Also remember Rex was saddled with Marty's boy, which in hind sight, was a huge blunder by Tanny. I honestly think if we had started with a coach like MM when Rex was hired the last two years would not have happen.
I am just glad he is here now with Lee to develop what is the most important position on any football team. A guy who can and will make the tough decisions on Mark's future with us and at the same time helping in developing Geno and the ability to know early, if we need to draft another QB next year.

    Again.

Once you concede the OC issue, all bets are off.

Brees played for Cameron, who is ...better than Schotty or Sparano. He was so bad i. Year three, with Gates, with LT, that they went and got Rivers.

Steve young played i. The USFL, then was so piss poor after 3 years Tampa Bay cast him aside. Then he sat for several more years. Simms, sucked for about 8 years. Eli too.

Some guys take a little longer.,,oh, and BTW...i doubt any of the aforementioned were 16 starts removed from theor last high school start when drafted. sanchez was a physically talented but extremely green rookie.

    Then saddled with shit coaching.

However, he has flashed the talent.

I agree, if MM (or some other competent OC ) had been hired in 09, we probably snag a VLT.

Getting to the AFCCG, only masked the wealness in the coaching staff, on the offensive side of the ball, and set the organization back a year, by the confluence of Sparano losing the Miami gig, and being brought here, before we secured Haley.

Lehronen, its not that every guy can do it, its that some of us feel hes flashed enough ability, that je can be one that does it.

Simple fact is, even Schottenheimer admitted he didnt have enough easy throws in his game plans.

When Sparano did, he played well, in spots, even as Sparano took the backs out of the passing game.

Its more a question of, not that we think Sanchez is destined for greatness, but more acknowledging the fact that he was set up to fail, and think...that barring that we can win with him.

And you have to admit, if Sanchez can turn it around, and keep Geno nipping at his heels, thats the best of all possible outcomes for the team....

For what it's worth and I know it's not much the Jets had the 11th rated offense in 2010.

Weren't you defending Sparano so much when he got here? How did that work out.

Face the facts. Sanchez is terrible. The only reason we have a 500 page thread about him is because his contract is so terrible that we can't cut him. That's it. Hell, if that contract wasn't given out, Tannenbaum might still have a job with the Jets

It was not conceivable, that someone could be worse than schotty..

There is one easily digestable fact in todays modern offense, and Schotty never got it.

you know, not trying to pound the ball inside the tackles, and repeatedly trying to throw the ball outside the numbers.

So, youre wishing for the team to fail.

    On multiple fronts no less.

    Some fan.
