Which RB do you take at #9?

  1. DeAngelo Williams

    58.7%
  2. LenDale White

    38.5%
  3. Laurence Maroney

    2.9%

We aren't going to get both of Denver's 1st round picks for Abe, it would probably be just for #29

Of course a mix would have actually required USING Lamont Jordan.

  7. If we get 9(and I have a feeling we will) I think we go Cutler at 4 and perhaps trade down at 9 to acquire more picks. Then we will be targetting guys like Manny Lawson, Laurence Marroney, Vernon Davis and Winston Justice.

Now that is a plan.. Get the QB first than trade down as many times as possible..

  9. the rumor is Abe and a 3rd for #9. If we moved down 4-5 spots we could reacquire that 3rd and I can almost Guarantee someone would fall to us that shouldnt.

lendale split carries with one of the greatest Rbs ever in college. he's bigger than williams and hasnt had as much abuse as williams did in college. lendale i do believe set a record for tds this year and we sure could use a beast who gets in the endzone. theres your no brainer

Oh boy, I'm salivating at the thought of getting a franchise QB *and* RB in the same draft - especially if that RB is White. Our future would be set.

I guess it all depends on Manbaum's plans. If they want to truly start clean, 2006 would be the transition with Cutler and White the core of the offense starting in 2007. I wouldn't cry over that move, but I'm worried about having a Chargers dilema come 2007, meaning Oenny actually comes back and plays above even the loftiest expectations (ala Drew Brees). They're on the verge of cutting Brees, for nothing. That would suck.

    hmm.. interesting outlook.

the only way i see that not being a problem is if we can then trade Pennington without taking a big cap hit.

nevertheless, i think Pennington's shoulder is done.

    cheers

Vernon Davis at number 9 is a very interesting pick- if this was last year I love that pick, even this year I wouldn't be upset. I could def see the Jets not taking Cutler at 4, and seeing him slip to 9 (who knows?) and grabbing him then like Pennington falling to them at 18 when he was drafted (I think he was predicted to go earlier).

Dude, The -- Pennington didn't have the hype that Cutler has going into this draft; nor did he play in the SEC like Cutler.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for Cutler to drop to us, but I just don't see it happening with teams who need a QB (i.e. Miami) lurking in the shadows.

    cheers

ok i called a friend who went ot every USC home game he says LenDale White is the real deal and would have been a star on anyother team besides the team with Reggie Bush.
