it sounds like you've nevefr caught a game in HD on a 65 inch Hitachi!!! the Cowboys game on fox after our game was popping off the screen!!
I also want a hdtv, but I dont think its a neccisity. As long as I can see players, and tell who is who im good. Does it look like 3-d ? I wonder if I wear my 3d glasses i got from disney with my regular tv will that help.
CBS only does 3 games each week in HD (Fox does 'em all). You would think that the NFL would make it a requirement. http://www.sportsline.com/cbssports/schedules/page/nfl
I wish I could get the game in HD! Since I live in Philly, I have to slingbox the games to my laptop and connect it to the TV. Streams pretty well but nothing compared to what it could be.
CBS should be prepared to have <B>Every single show on their network<B> in HD its going to be the standard in the next 2 years. They pay huge amounts of money to get the nfl rights to broadcast and the put out a subpar product they are simply out of touch with what the consumer wants. If 2 1/2 men is available in HD the Jet game should be available How many people are arranging there day around that sh1t show
No, and if you really just want to get down to the basics, I think my parents 13" black-and-white AMANA is still around. We watched the Apollo 11 moon landing with it. Seriousley, while HDTV isn't a necessity, it's great to watch a game. HDTV is as big an improvement over regular cable as regular cable was to over-the-air TV or color was to black-and-white. Can't say everyone should run out and get it, but why not check it out and see the huge difference. Sports is even better in HDTV than film or regular TV.
If it was a home game it would have been in HD but they sent the road crew with the second rate equipment.
It sucks that opening day was in standard def, when the local CBS crew carried both pre-season games in HD. I was mad as hell yesterday. And the prospect of most of the season looming in standard is a big downer. CBS needs to get their shit together and start doing everything in HD. As stated earlier, FOX does ALL their games HD. Low class by CBS after spending billions on the contract.
a little off subject but can anyone tell me how to work the streamnow tv?? I subscribed and now it taes me to a list of list of servers that is unidentifiable to me... any suggestions... Im in florida, I was LUCKY to get the pats v jets last week!
We've discuss this every year. I guess the non-HD people just never paid attention to it until now. CBS has always been selective in the 3 games they pick. They'd provide the HD schedule 3-4 weeks out so they can make changes according to the matchup.
How was everyone's reception of the game ??? I had to switch to regular Channel 2 here in NY and off CBS-HD. I get Cablevision and a few times the pixelazation/break-up of the picture got so bad it totally froze and the audio was inaudible. I ended up watching the game on the regular SD channel for about 25% of the game, maybe a bit more. I'm not sure what causes this stupid pizelazation. Could be my STB, or it could be a problem in Cablevision's line. Might get a new STB this week.
Is anybody watching the Giants-Skins game on Fox-HD ?? I'm seeing the signal as being Hi-Def (720p) but for some reason it shows up in a 4:3 square box format unless I stretch it. If it were a widescreen hi-def signal it would fill the screen automatically regardless of the picture format on my plasma. Anybody confirm the same problem ?
same here Also had the St Louis game for a while (Channel 88) but the Giant game on Fox (5) Are you on DTV or Cablevision?
Cablevision.....picture will also sometimes 'switch' from the screwed-up 720p signal to a 480i one. It must be very poor -- I just got my reception fixed the other day. It's OK now. Hopefully, CBS is fine with the Jets.
Signal Strength Meter: There's a way to check the signal strength, though I haven't gotten all the information I need to gauge all readings. Here's what to do: If you have a Cablevision-ScientificAtlanta set-top box (STB), the 4200 but maybe the 8300 also: (1) Hit the round button between the CHANNEL UP/DOWN buttons on the box. Hold it in until the LED light above the ENVELOPE picture flashes. (2) Hit the 2nd diagonal button to the left of the CHANNEL UP/DOWN buttons, the one marked INFO. (3) The RF Data and other info should come on screen. The 2nd set of info --- RF PARAMETERS -- should show. Mine are -12, -4, -60. (4) Hit the EXIT button to get rid of the on-screen information. I'm not sure but I believe that's a good signal. I think originally I was weak with a -20 on the leadoff number. I'm trying to have Cablevision call me back and confirm those numbers represent a good signal (it's certainly improved since they fixed it) and will try and get an idea of what numbers represent a poor signal, an OK one, and a good/ecellent one.
For those of you who have Cablevison Scientific-Atlanta settop boxes, write down your RF Paramaters/signal strength readings here. Follow the instructions above to get the info.
