Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 32s After meeting with Raiders this week, Browns free-agent WR Josh Cribbs is flying to New York to meet with Jets, per source. Haven't seen this anywhere else. I'm guessing he's not what he used to be. Would he fit well in a WCO? EDIT: Cimini just tweeted Rich Cimini @RichCimini 9s #Jets scheduled to meet with WR Josh Cribbs, per @AdamSchefter. Cribbs first will meet with Raiders this week.
I don't know how much he has left, especially after his concussion last year. But he was a really good kick returner I believe, so maybe he can replace Kerley in punt returns maybe, and be like a No. 5 type WR maybe.
Didn't know he was available and not sure where he'd fit in. His still being available in May speaks volumes to me though.
training camp fodder experienced guy who can come in and give us reps at an nfl level for competitions sake sucks but he prob wont make the final roster
Would sure be nice to have another guy on the team who can make plays on offense. I think he's a pretty talented guy who was stuck on a shitty offense for years. Maybe Morningwood can do something with him? Looking at his stats he may have a fumbling problem though. It's not like we have much at WR. He could be our #4?
dude is pretty talented, he's just been stuck on the browns. he could be good depth and competition for us so i think its a good signing if it happens
I agree, I'd love a signing if it's cheap. Holmes-Hill-Kerley-Cribbs? Not too bad, especially if Hill "explodes." Kerley almost looked afraid of returning punts last year, Cribbs could take that role.
H e would be really useful on punt returns where we lead the league in fair catches cause Kerley couldn't be trusted. Not gonna break the bank for him thou
I'd rather get Lloyd to tell you the truth. Cribbs is a good special teams guy but he's been on the Browns and he's got 107 catches and 128 carries in 8 years. I know the Browns aren't renowned for their ability to get stuff out of talent but 235 touches on offense in 8 years means he isn't going to be a starting WR and that's what we're likely to need this year.
I would think they would be getting Cribbs to be a KR and PR because Kerley was the human fair catch machine this season.
