Seahawks gave up a 1st rounder apparently. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/
Branch to Seahawks for 1st.. Just heard it on Sirius... Deon Branch to Seattle for 1st round pick....I feel comfortable with what we got and never ever would have given up even a 2nd for Deon....Good job by our Front office by not budging.
a 1st rounder, wowowow. Seattle basically feels they can make there draft from the mid rounds I guess. WOw m guessing branch would be the number 2 behind jackson. Or jackson becomes the number 2. Either way ,nate burleson is getting #1 money for nothing. Lucky him.
Yuck...awful trade for Seattle...what do they need him for anyways? They just signed Nate Burleson to a huge deal and Darrell Jackson is a 1200 yard reciever... We don't really need Branch though as we have really outstanding depth at the position. I would have been furious had we given up a first for Jackson. Clearly we were only willing to part with our second rounder.
Now the Pats dont have a clearly defined #1. I am not nieve to think the pats Passing game is going to suck now with Brady at the helm. But I am sorry with No Givens/Branch, Jackson/Caldwell/Gabriel/whoever else they have arent scaring me.
Tangini Wins: Branch Moved out of division Seattle gave up a first to the Pats. Tangini did a great job in forcing the pats to move him out of the division. Im convinced that is the only reason we made that ridiculous offer to him.! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2583149
He's out of the division and we didn't give up a 1st rounder. I'd say thats another good move by the FO.
So NE will likely have 2 first rounders after pick 22 or so. If they had traded him for the Green Bay #1 I'd be livid
