You will never know the truth. Just odd to wait till after you didn't get drafted first day to do it...

Rex said in fact that Mark is the starting QB for 2013. That was noted in the media press conference during after the draft.

What that means is that it's Marks job to lose, not that he will be a certain stater. There's no rocket science formula in this. They drafted Geno to sir up the competition. That was the word mentioned many times in the conference.

If Mark fails, then Geno steps in. If Mark wins the job, which I am sure they'll be rooting hard for, this allows them to be more flexible should they decide to deal Mark off or franchise him and not take a big loss.

  7. You want your QB to reflect your head coach's personality on the field. Sanchez is pretty much the opposite of Rex. He was never a good fit for Schottenheimer's complex offense nor was he molded for NYC. All around the guy just doesn't make a very good New York Jet. He could still have a successful year & career for that matter but he was never a good fit in New York w/ this head coach,

With Geno and Sanchez, I suspect it will be just let the chips fall where they may. The concern at "setting the record" straight doesn't seem to be there. We all know that Geno might not be a starting caliber NFL quarterback, or he might be a beast that should have been picked #1 overall. It should suffice to just watch his development and enjoy the ride.

On the other hand of comparison in your question, Tebow drives people nuts (positively and negatively). Reporters, bloggers, fans and regular citizens -- for some reason, they feel the need to endlessly analyze and debate him forever. Nobody seems to be able to "let it go." Some guy posts "Tebow is _____" and whoever disagrees can't seem to just conclude "Hmm. Some guy on the internet thinks something different from the truth."
