apologies in advance to the mods for language

Is it me or is the media just completely against us? No matter which way we go we are doing it wrong. Even our shitty ass local guys who should at least be even keeled are stirring the goddamn pot.I'm sitting here and the talking heads on the NFL network are going on about Geno Smith not being able to play in cold weather. I didn't hear any mention of that shit when he was going to the Philly or Buffalo.

The collected media has become so biased against us that I only gather information from reading it here. I mean, shit, they were just talking about Nassib going to the Giants and they just HAD to wheel back around and take a dig at the Jets for taking Geno. When we get this shit turned around I hope we give the media collective big fuck you and fuck the horse you rode in on. No interviews, no stories, no access no anything at all.

I'm not usually this aggitated about sports coverage but this has gone beyond rediculous. Hell our pics don't even have highlights shown. We get information and footage that shows why they are terrible picks. Like we are reaching for 7th rounders or something.

    rant off

I completely agree, and I have to say I'm fucking tired of it. We are constantly referred to as the "circus," and, regardless of the moves we make, we are criticized for it. If the eagles took Geno Smith in the second round, do you think the commentators would have went ape-shit like they did for us? A guy that was expected to go in the first round (some had him top ten) dropped all the way to the 39th pick.

It's bullshit, and in the eyes of the media, we can't win. I really hope we surprise people this year.

There are certain stories that ESPN, NFL Network, etc...must have in order to keep ratings.

Philidelphia Eagles are intriguing new team under Kelley.

Honey Badger will redeem himself with Arizona

    Jets are a circus

These and more keep the ratings going for the causal football fan. If you've noticed, they said on the NFL Network that most executives loved the way we picked. I think I trust the executives working right now as opposed to analysts who got fired, couldn't hack it in a scout room.

listen when you run a team like we have the past 4 years this is what happens. and many things the jets did were a bit questionable. add that to the fact that we acted like a bunch of morons as a franchise the past 4 years and it ends up everyone jumps on the jets...

act right, be quiet and be successful and it will stop soon enough.

Today I heard something that really pissed me off.

After Philly took Barkley, all the analysts literally sat there saying how it was such a great pick for Philly. Now they have competition at the QB spot and the best QB will come out on top. (Eagles now have Vick, Foles, and Barkley).

Jets take Geno Smith to try and grab a franchise QB and now we are a circus again and our QB controversy is even worse. (Jets now have Sanchez, Garrard, McElroy, Tebow and Smith).

Eagles make a GREAT pick in Barkley to bring competition, but the Jets are a circus to bring in Smith to bring competition? LOL Media is a fuckin joke

Yea, I know guys. Winning is the best medicine and everything. Doesn't change the fact that this method of sitting on a story drives me insane. The "YEAR" they spent on Tebow being case in point. I'm so sorry we had to be a part of that mess because its going to follow us until we start winning or he lands someplace else and wins or loses.

Its not them being against us its more of them knowing what people watch. It is the downside of being the brash talking Jets that made everyone talk when they were winning. Unfortunately as we have learned that yes people loved talking about the Jets even more, they know that the fans love hating on the Jets which is why they continue their b.s. conjecture.

Its all a matter of what the fans really love talking about. You notice the Lebron reporting every day went down on ESPN when he won a title. That is because it was not popular to trash on Lebron. It was only popular when you could make fun of him for not having a title.

The shit talking will end when the Jets make the playoffs.

I could care less about the media. The media, in general sports or otherwise, are in my opinion complete scumbags with no journalistic integrity and an agenda to sell regardless of the legitimacy of content. And that's all mainstream media, sports media is no different. Results changes fickle tunes quickly

I second that ct the entire media is consumer driven and they could give a rats ass about real "news", factual or otherwise.

So, the media is bad, for pointing out that Geno coincedentally had issues in cold weather games, but the media is good when the bash Sanchez, who hasnt gotten a dimes bit of help from the front office since he was drafted.

    I see.

I hope that Fuck You will be as loud, if MM fashions Sanchez into the QB he should have been.

I blame the idiotic Jet fans at the draft, who boo and shake their head no matter who we pick so they can get some airtime. These broadcasts then just feed fire.

Couldn't agree more! Thought the same thing when watching. Had they not picked him they'd be bashing them for not picking him. No matter what jets do they'll get bashed.

Thats a legit story, because of the pre draft Geno Smith hype machine...not the kids fault, but it is what it is.

There are several legit questions, about where Geno ultimately winds up.

At WVa, he was not asked to read defenses, two reads. Period.

So, theres a question of him being a product of the systeM.

Then theres the alleged poor performances in cold weather...now, Im not a fan of the pick, but that one I have a hard time buying.

Guys got enough going on around him to be worrying about being cold....

And..lets face it, the cut Sanchez now, or Geno is a franchise QB crowd, plays right into the scummy media hype.

Lets face it (oh, and btw you forgot Simms.)

The Jets have three Legit QBs. A playoff winner, Sanchez, a Veteran backup, Garrard, and currently, a bridesmaid, Smith. Simms and McElroy will not make opening day.

If garrard had been on the roster when Sanchez got benched, We dont give up 1/3 a seasons worth of sacks to SD.

If Sanchez gets hurt before week 8 Garard comes in. After that Smith would probably get a look depending on the score and record.

Well if people stop referring to the term New York Jets circus and use the correct term "Media circus" It would shed some light on who the real clowns are.

I wasn't saying that at all Hobbes. It's not a Geno thing or a Mark thing is a Jets thing. Its kind of silly that I tune into sports center this week and the Sanchez fumble is still the leading lowlight. I would have loved to see Sanchez get straightened out and I still think he could be but it won't be here because he's been beaten to shit.

Physically I think Sanchez is a good player. Mentally however I think the kid is completely shot and the Jets did squat to get his head screwed all the way on. The Geno Smith and being released rumors have probably only further jacked him up but until he gets his shit together he needs to be a backup.

If somehow Sancho could internalize this and offer up a big fuck you to all of us for doubting him. I'd love to see it because he has the tools to be a great QB. Unfortunately I think he has regressed so much that he can't dig himself out with the Jets. But yea if he gets his thing going here that would be great because he hasn't shit on the team and seems like a nice enough guy.

He needs to go someplace where there isn't a ton of pressure so he can get it together.

I'm so sick of the media, but I'm more sick of the Jets fans who have taken the media's side in all of this.

Tell me, what's the worse move. Trading a 5th round pick for Tebow, or drafting him with a 1st round pick? And yet the team that traded a 5th seems to get more criticism than the team that drafted him with a 1st.

People are all over Rex, but name another HC who has more playoff wins in the past 4 years?
Only John Harbaugh and Mike McCarthy have more with 8 and 5 respectively, and Coughlin & S. Payton have 4 as well. Think of all of the other franchises that have not sniffed a playoff win in years, and the coaches currently employed there. I have never seen a head coach, a franchise, or a team take so much flak as the Jets have and the truth is it is mostly unwarranted. The media needs a piƱata, and it seems the NYJ have been chosen, it really is unfair to me.

In 2009 and 2010, the Jets were a journalist's dream, the NYJ writers had probably the funnest and easiest job of any writers in the NFL. Rex gave them more headlines than they could ask for, and more success this franchise has had since SB III, and yet after one 8-8 season and a 6-10 season after our roster lost talent from 2010 to 2011 and 2011 to 2012 (something I do not blame on Rex at all) the media seems to have completely jumped ship, and in my opinion, many things being written about the Jets have been unfair, as well as the perceptions of the franchise circulating on the sports networks and such.

I get that a lot. It's so...simple, yet it says a lot. This was the Ravens/Patriots game.
