I know its just week one but i have been saying that this will be his breakout year since april. He took some pressure off coles and he was going up against pacman jones who is dam good so i thinki we can see the same kind of performance from him next week agaisnt the patriots any thoughts?
my thoughts are exactly what you just said....Cotch did a damn good job today, and if it werent for Dbricks holding play, he would have 2 tds and 6 or 7 catches...and penny would have 3 tds (side note)...i think its fair to say he looks like a legit #2 WR
Everything about the passing game looked excellent today other than Moore's penalties. The whole line held up and picked up blitzes very well. All the receivers looked good, and Penny was pinpoint. The worst thing about our passing game was Justin Miller dropping that ball. We really need a better blocking right tackle and right guard though if we ever want an effective running game. The line needs to gel a bit better and we'll see better running results, but they looked horrid today trying to block the Titans front.
To be fair if not for Dbrick's holding Penny would have been sacked on that play, and I'd rather have the penalty than the sack.
Not just Cotch, but all of the receivers, including Baker and Smith, did fantastic. And as far as I could tell, those passes were all coming into tight pass coverage. Three cheers for our receivers!
Chad spreads the ball out enough that he can make 3-5 receivers very happy about their touches. Its just the yards thats usually not there, but today was certainly an exception
Jmac looked good, had a couple of nice catches. We should be happy to have him along with Cotch, Coles and Smith.
all of our rcvrs looked good today -- coles had 150 yards, cotch was solid, and Jmac made some nice catches -- baker was solid
Exactly, JMac was in the mix, and to have Cothery develop the way it appears he has, with Coles looking like an All Pro, throw in Smith, and don't forget Dwight either, we could have a decent WR corp. I wouldn't get rid of any of them right now.
