Nugent is already a bust. We,ve had some really wasted draft piks, but his is up there. The man cost us 7 points in today's game which very easily could of lost the game for the jets

Nugent isn't a rookie. He messed up plenty of times last season, and people said "He's just a rookie, let him grow." Well, we gave him that chance. There is NO excuse for him to be this bad at this point. Cut him and move on.

Mike was a stand up guy on the radio after the game. He talked about what he was doing wrong, I believe he said something about hitting the grass when he was going for the kick, or something along those lines.

Easily his worst game of his NFL carerr, but I think next week he'll turn it around.

I hate to throw this in in there to support Nuge but......
    1) He kicked in big time pressure games for Ohio State at a stadium that holds 30,000 more than our stadium
    2) The field today looked like a disaster. Remember the problems Hall had with that experiment with the grass trays at the Meadowlands?? Missing the kicks is inexcusable, but look closely..his mechanics were all off and he couldn't get a good grip on the field. Blame it on the equipment manager.

We should bring in a kicker to keep him honest though. What happened to Xavier Batia??

Oh, its gonna happen. Anybody wanna go to the open tryouts, I have a buddy from the bar with a 5 year old, he thinks his kid could have done better. No arguments out of me. I hope Mangini cuts him so fast, he will be paying for his own ticket back to Ohio.

He had a bad day, end of story. He isn't gonna get cut, either. He's our kicker for the rest of the year (unless he continues like he did today), so let's just hope everything pans out.

Damn you, Sunday, you were right. :)

I'm starting to think Westhoff drafted Nugent because he wants good head at the office. I mean, did anyone listen to the Nugent interview on 1050 after the game? He sounded like a hairstylist.

That more or less sums up my feelings on the issue. There's no jumping off now, we might as well try and be optimistic that he can bounce back.

Why? This isn't business as usual around here. No more hugs and pats on the back for f'ing up. I can see him gone real soon, I don't care who loses face over it. And neither should Mangini.
