Tennessee's offense is a mess, but their defense is real solid. I could be wrong, but I believe they were among the leagues best last year against the run. That definetely showed today.

Anyway, I think you can celebrate a win and also realize that your team isnt perfect. You dont have to pick one or the other. We struggled to run the ball against a very solid run defense, but we had fantastic success in the throwing game. Pennington looked great, and our receivers looked equally impressive, and heres a reminder, Dwight was out today, and he contributed a lot in the preseason.

I have to say that Im confused by the ups and downs I saw on defense today, but I think it was mostly due to Tennessee's quarterback mess. We looked real strong against the run pretty much the entire game, which is crucial. But we got passed on late in the game, after defending the pass extremely well earlier in the game. The one thing we do know is that Dyson and Rhodes are guys with great ball awareness, if opposing quarterbacks underthrow receivers or receivers bobble the ball, we can produce an interception.

Next weeks game will be telling. The Patriots have an offensive line thats been together for a while, and Brady isnt going to give up the gift turnovers that Collins and Young did today.

Thats all the negatives. The positive is that Pennington looks as good as he ever has, and weve got a great group of receivers for him to work with. When you can throw the ball the way the Jets did today, the running game usually follows, so hopefully that will develop in the coming weeks.

This was not an ugly win. It should have been 30-14. Fck Nugent.

No one but Merril Hoge throught they would win, I did not know what to expect, even when they were up 16-0, I was still like... but they pulled it out thanks to Chads big arm <--

Besdies why are we lookng ahead, there are no expectations for this team, next week with NE if they lose, so what, you just want them to improve every week.

Better teams won't give up those kinds of small mistakes. I will feel better about where the team is when we play against a more solid opponent, and see how we match up then. We certainly had some solid play out of some today though. Great to see Penny have a great first game back.

I don't disagree that we should be happy and have much to be excited about. It is just in the past these sort of wins have a tendency to get more drama then they deserve, and when we lose people are jumping out of 10 story windows.
