I agree with the multiple posts here that if we got him for a bargain, it would be a great signing. From the interviews I have read with our new DC Dennis Thurman is that Allen and Bush are "not quite there yet" and "need to play better to start". A Rex Ryan defense calls for some great man cover guys and safeties who can help stop the run. I feel better about Allen than I do Bush from the little I have seen from him. Landry would help with the depth and probably win a starter spot on this team unless we draft a stud safety and Allen really impresses, both of which are not likely to happen. I would try to get him if I were Idzik.

All dependent on if we sign them. Idzik definitely has the right idea. Now let's see if it gets put in motion. So far, so good.

I would love Landry and Fred Davis signing. That would be clutch

Hold up hold up now I see us signing Landry 2.0 but Fred Davis too? You think we have the cap to war with Buffalo. I mean I want him but idk now just being realistic I think Butler goes to the Eagles or Saints and Davis goes to the Bills doesn't mean I don't want them both

We are $13 million under cap right now. Give or take $6 million for the draft and we are left with around $7 million. That should be enough to sign both

Looks like we lost out on Butler and Davis.
Personally i'd rather have Landry over those 2 guys anyway, as i think he is the better player.

Any news on this? I guess he left the visit w/o a contract.
They need to get this one done, and maybe take a FS in the mid rounds.

Any news on this front? I'm getting a little impatient with the inactivity. I like how Idzik is handling the offseason so far, but damn is it boring.

With the lack of news, I'm beginning to wonder if Jets will simply double down on safety this draft. Some articles are stating rounds 4-5 can still decent safety prospects. Combine these two 2013 safeties with the two 2012 safeties drafted last year.

Force Rex to create a safety duo amongst those 4 young guys.

I say it would be in our best interest to sign Landry 2.0 to a 3 year deal and draft a safety its better to have atleast one veteran(of course who isnt 12 years in) to start to mentor and have liability at the position
