I'm glad to see this is being received well... I'm sure like anything else it'll just take getting used to but at the end of the day you get on the board and Bam...all the info is right there, in a neat pile (Well that's what we hope) but the content inside...hey, all bets are off! lol
I think the specific source becomes irrelevant about 10 minutes after the thread is started. I think the prefixes for news should be RUMOR: and CONFIRMED: and for other things, DISCUSS/THOUGHT/IDEA
Good Idea to use both. Have the Source like the way we have it then add that at the end parenthetically e.g. CIMINI: Pennington to Consult Sanchez (Rumor) I believe LTJF or one of the other mods have been doing it this way. Makes sense  Own thoughts are fine.. no prefix needed. This formatting is just to make the forum a little easier by allowing posters to see and also for anyone who was making a thread from the same story...
This is a good idea since there have been a lot of dumb/no-content threads. I only have one little thing to comment on: "This isn't twitter and there isn't a race." Lots of NFL news comes from twitter now, and third party sources like Rotoworld condense it and write it up better than ESPN does (often hours later) or the local rags. Personally when I see a Jets story if it's something new I want to discuss it with people here, and if there isn't a thread up I want to make it. Realistically users who do that are creating content for you and making this a better place, but it's your forum (or at least you guys are the mods) so they're your rules to make.
DS, That quote Doesn't mean you can't use twitter as a source. It's meant not to use this board and start a thread like twitter. One word title, One line text no link...etc... Basically starting a thread that took 3 seconds to make with nothing behind it. Too many threads were going on like that. I have no issue with twitter but some threads may get moved, trashed or re-titled if there is absolutely nothing to substantiate the claim.
it really seams like there is much less content and much fewer interactions since the new "creating threads rules" can we get some data to back this up? is TGG usage down relative to same period last year? what about # of new users? im betting its down and is trending down. .02
Maybe I have had too many beers but I have no clue what your point is. Even so, surely you must understand that freedom of speech protects you from the government not from posting on a privately owned message board.
Didn't wanna start a new thread, so I'm gonna ask here: What's with the Illuminati/KKK-secret society policy that guests aren't allowed during the draft?
