    so...

we need LB's, TE's, a few more worthy WR (or maybe an actual #1) safety's, a new guard or two, another competing QB, another RB, and maybe depth at DL.

oh and a kicker, unless tebows doing it.

looks off now but the doom and gloom feels premature honestly. we only look like we're tanking because we're not done, the last few weeks have been about getting actual cap space now comes the acquisitions. cheap options, maybe underrated maybe justifiably so, a few worth while draft picks , and who knows maybe one bigger named fa signing.

thats just the optimist in me though, i'm too young of a fan to be hopeless it seems. somebody help me.

So, You've seen him in the WCO?

Because, in actually watching the games, when Greene was out...I saw him run inside, catch out of the backfield, mand split out wide and haul in back shoulder throws 20 yards downfield after abusing a safety.

Is he a banger...no. But...unlike Greene, and fwiw Powell... When he holds on to the ball he does everything well enough tonot tip off the defense.

I know. He just sucks. Can't play.

But if he can't catch, or operate in open space like a WCO back...how has he been one of the best KRs in the NFL the last two years?

Or do you not appreciate the difference between a guy like Greene, and a guy like Westbrook?

What this roster tells me is that Rex is a lame duck coach in 2013 who has little chance of returning in 2014.

    Opening day 2014.

Rex on the sidelines. Nacho under center.

Yeah this is an accurate statement LOL

Let's blame Rex Ryan for lack of depth at all positions

Wow we are paper thin at alot of posistions, More importantly we have a lack of starters at alot of posistions, RB,TE,ROLB,LOLB,WR,DT,S,FS, lol how are we gonna fill all these slots not to mention QB but we kinda know what that will look like. I guess we will wait for the frenzy to end an then we will look for bargains and starters threw the draft

Disagree...I think Harris' "off" season was directly due to having to compensate for the aging other three LB'ers. He along with Davis, draft pick(s) and Bellore should be considerably better next year. Speaking of Bellore, I wonder...does he have the speed to play strong safety? I need to look that up.

Also, I guess I'm in the minority about McKnight...I think his skillset fits PERFECT for Marty's offense and he will have a HUGE year in 2013. The only guy missing from this roster right now is Keller...I believe he could have a Vernon Davis/Tony Gonzalez level impact with decent QB play...a real difference maker. And there are a lot more respected football people who would agree with me as opposed to the bunch of jaded Jets fans who don't when it comes to Keller.

4 wins next year...who knows...but thank god for the Bills because so far Miami has gotten significantly more potent on offense. We MIGHT get lucky and not be in last place.

One last thing...I put my money on Rex Ryan being here in 2014 and beyond...

I agree with you on McKnight. The dude could be a terror on screen plays. I see us drafting another RB in the draft unless someone comes along on the cheap in FA.

He gets gassed and needs oxygen break by his 3rd carry. He has fumbling problem and he's injury prone. I don't think he is known for his blocking skills out of the backfield. He has played many positions in the NFL (punt returner, kick returner, running back, wide receiver and defensive back) and still has not landed a starting roll. Year 4, what do you have Joe?

I think he sounds pretty good

No system will fix his horrible pass blocking or fumble problems. Unless he takes care of those he is little more tahn a taller Leon Washington. Great guy for specials and nothing more.

Geez with this evolving roster Rex has as much chance in 2014 as Romney had in November....;)

This roster is better now, than it was in December.

The chaff has been cut from the wheat...the cap has been fixed...the draft is imminent, and this is the best FA class in memory. Which means that when the music stops...there will be guys better than the guys we lost...looking for work..at a better price.

As long as Rex has his head in the game and the Jets don't collapse down the stretch again I'm there with you on this one.

This is not hero worship or anything like that, I just think Rex is an asset and as long as his head coaching remains tolerable his ability as a defensive coordinator is outstanding.

I do recognize that you could have said exactly the same thing about his dad though, so no blinders on here.

3 years ago. His best game as a Jet came when Greene was injured. As was MCKnight..and he did all that needed doing.

You misunderstand me sir. I'm not blaming Rex for this mess. I'm saying he is put into a position to try an push an elephant up the stairs. He was brought back for a 1 year trial and is given a pile shit to shine.

Tell me what you think about this draft and how it would shape the Jets in the coming years

first round - Cordelle Patterson Wr
first round - D.J Fluker OL
second round - Matt Elam S
third round - Barrett Jones Ol
fourth round - Leveon Bell RB
fifth round - Jon Bostic LB
sixth round - Nick Kasa TE
seventh round - Adrian Bushell CB

Obviously the extra first round pick is if we trade revis which i think is most likely going to happen but the way i see it is with this draft we would have our WR corp set up for the future with Kerley, Hill and Patterson our Ol would be extremely solid adding fluker to RT and Barrett Jones to guard he also has the ability to play every position on the OLso that would be huge for us elam would immediately upgrade our safety position leveon bell i honestly think is the best rb in the draft and think he would start from day one bostic is a solid linebacker who i think could contribute nick kasa is a big athletic pass catching te reminds of a poor mans keller and then adrian bushell is good sized fast corner who could help on special teams and hopefully eventually break into the corner rotation.

So this draft i think would solidify our OL, WR RB and S position with some potential in the te and lb positions and a flyer on the cb position. I really like this draft a lot because if we give Sanchez a solid line and these wr and a running game and the potential with kasa at te either Sanchez will show his struggles were a major impact of the poor OL and Wr play or he will suck again and well have another top pick next year to get a qb and the pieces will already be in place for him.

    What do you all think.
