Did anybody happen to catch the State of the Franchise yesterday at 7pm on the Network? That had to be one of the worst state of the franchises Ive ever seen. Im kind of tired of hearing about Revis, we all know what it is right now they were suppose to break down our needs and where we were lacking. The most bizzarre part about this whole ordeal is that they have Tannenbaum speaking on the State of the Jets Franchise. Didnt he get fired? Isnt this the same guy who doesnt have a clue of what to do with a franchise? I dont want to hear anything that comes out of that guys mouth. Give us a different point of view then the one of a former GM, we needed a breath of fresh air when it came down to that. We have Revis now who is saying he would love to be traded to the 49ers and now he is doing what he does best and thats back pedaling(pun intended) trying to say he wants to stay with the Jets. At first I was like be loyal to Revis and if we work a deal out with him Ill be cool with it. But if he gets traded and we get more picks out the deal then im also cool with it just get it done already.
Revis will always want top dollar thanks to the influence of his asshole uncle. Hopefully if traded he will end up like his uncle too...a mediocre CB who's one the decline after his injury. I'll be happy to eat crow if he stays here for reasonable money and remains the best CB in the league.
The Jets are a mess right now but being a Jets fan beats being a fan of about half the rest of the teams in the NFL even at this low point. Imagine what the fans of the Browns, Jaguars, Chiefs, Cardinals, Bills, Raiders, Lions, Eagles, Dolphins, Titans, Chargers, Buccaneers, Panthers and Rams are feeling about their team going into 2013? The Steelers are cap-strung and in trouble. For all of Jerry Jones supposed acumen the Cowboys have won 8, 8, and 6 games the last 3 seasons and they actually have a QB. The Bears have made the playoffs once in the last six seasons. It's easy to be "woe is me" as a Jets fan at this point but we've at least recognized that things aren't going as planned and begun to make big changes. We're ahead of the curve compared to most of the teams above. It's going to be a slog but we've got our boots on instead of standing in the mud up to our ankles and hoping things get better next year on their own.
Oddly enough, those are the same fans who post on profootball sports/espn/etc... and say 'LOL, JETS SUCK' or 'LOL, THANK YOU FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT, NEW YORK JETS!!! BUTTFUMBLE' The media did very well with the 'jet suck' narrative this year. Maybe they can find someone else to pick on next year.
A lot of teams have it worse than us. Cowboy fans are going crazy with the Monte Kiffin signing and Jerry Jones making crazy moves. Our situation can be fixed in due time and with patience
Word of advice, don't pay attention to anyone. Just focus on the team itself, not the faggot reporters trying to ride their tailcoats just because the jets are a circus right now.
The Jets aren't a circus at all. Thats more BS from the media using photoshop crap to sell papers. The Jets have some challenges and some great opportunities to improve the team. Feel free to be miserable but the Jets will be much much better in '13 than the so called experts believe.
I have faith in our new manager. I think our FA and the Draft moves this year will be excellent and by the time next season starts, our team will be solid. I believe we are witnessing a change in jet culture and I'm even going to go as far as to predict playoffs.
Look at it this way,.... Have the media addressed the fact that Mohrinwheg is the best OC Sanchez has had since he's been here. No. Has anyone pointed out that except for Greene and Keller (possibly)... The entire offense returns intact, and their replacements are already on the roster. Or the Joe McKnight demonstrated already the ability to catch out of the backfield. Or the fact that the Pass defense didn't drop off when Revis went down, or the salary cap implications of his demands, or put Revis in the context of all those guys that are getting cut over Salary. Hell you could field a decent expansion team with all the formerly high priced now ufa's out there. Or how we now have a pretty good DLine, and are about to replace one inside backer (though we have candidates ON THEROSTER) and what we really need in the draft, or FA is ONE TALENTED OLB that can apply pressure? I hate to admit it but after years of trading quantity for quality, we have a decent roster, and can actually draft and pursue quality depth. No. And none of that is homer sunshine...go look at what we cut, and what's still on the roster... If by fortune Dion Jordan falls to us at nine, and Barnard at 39....and you walked away with Mathieu in the third...to play the slot until he challenges Wilson on the outside.... You'd have a complete team. But the media sells more eye yes on the circus/rebuilding theme.
There are a lot of fans out there cheering for teams that haven't sniffed the playoffs in over 10 years. Ya, it can be a lot worse.
Keep in mind the Jets only played 5 teams that finished in the top 15 for passing yards per game when Revis wasn't there. (Pittsburgh, New Englandx2, Houston, and Indy). If we trade Revis we will see how good the pass d really is without him when we play more pass focused teams.
We shall see - I am loving all the predictions of doom and gloom. Its hilarious how dumb so many of the so called experts are.
For the Jets faithful this is no New situation. We have been going through this for 10-20 + years. The Franchise is good and then bad. Up down up down ; no different then any other franchise. The 9ers for example sucked for a long time, so in terms of the Jets we have had it good for stretches and had it bad for ones. All and all we have had it pretty good the last couple of years. Its the way the Jets do it to ya that make it sting so bad. Tannenbaum wasn't a terrible GM. We all garnered him as a cap wizard and I hate it when poster's act like he was garbage for his entire tenure. Now, what Tanny did was get desperate there at the end and make a ton of mistakes and gave poor contract to players that didn't deserve them. The ownership and coaching staff are also culpable in this matter as well. We were built for 4 years to win it all and failed! thus the re-building stage kicks in, so we will be looked at as a franchise in turmoil; it doesn't help that are coach is a loud mouth, who would tell you we are the best thing since sliced bread even if he knew we sucked and could win a game. I hate the media , but we are unfortunately as in bad shape as they state , so don't be mad , just wait for that upturn that will come soon enough. As for Revis , id take a 2nd rounder to get him off the team. He's a great player , but he will always be on the other side of the franchises needs and be a financial burden. Deal him now , while he is worth something .
